Yesterday, we did not meet the standard of excellence you expect and that we expect of ourselves. To help provide some relief to those affected, we will give you a $20 account credit that can be easily redeemed by logging into the myVerizon app. You will receive a text message when the credit is available. On average, this covers multiple days of service. Business customers will be contacted directly about their credits. This credit isn’t meant to make up for what happened. No credit really can. But it’s a way of acknowledging your time and showing that this matters to us. If you’re still having trouble connecting, please restart your device (power down and power back on). This is the fastest way to reconnect your phone to the network. We are sorry for what you experienced and will continue to work hard day and night to provide the outstanding network and service that you expect from Verizon.

4-13 season following 3-14. Hoping for better times because these last 2 Giants seasons have been exhausting. Schoen will stay. They’ll get a coach. Moving forward with Jaxson Dart. Lots of holes to fix. Some big decisions on pending FA’s. Will be there for every second.

Well, another Wisconsin football season is done. Hard to believe that's 15 seasons covering the program. Thanks to everyone for following along. It's going to be a very busy offseason.

Omer Neutra, a 21-year-old from Long Island, was murdered by Hamas in the October 7 attacks and his body has been held hostage since. Omer’s loved ones have advocated fiercely for him and now, his body has finally been returned for proper burial. May his memory be a blessing.

May his memory be a blessing. Thank you for your service Rabbi Kass.
Jessica S. Tisch@NYPDPC

I am deeply saddened to share the passing of Rabbi Alvin Kass, our Chief Chaplain, and one of the longest-serving members of the New York City Police Department. Rabbi Kass joined the NYPD in 1966, at the age of 30, becoming the youngest chaplain in the Department’s history. Nearly six decades later, he remained its spiritual heart — a source of strength, guidance, and faith for generations of police officers and their families. A U.S. Air Force veteran and Columbia graduate, Rabbi Kass devoted his life to service, to this city, and to the women and men of the NYPD. He comforted the grieving, counseled the troubled, and reminded all of us of the deeper purpose in what we do. He was among the first to respond after 9/11, consoling the families of the 23 officers we lost that day. And for more than half a century, he stood beside our members through moments of tragedy and triumph alike. At every Police Academy graduation, Rabbi Kass offered his familiar blessing — a prayer that New York be “a place where people of every race, religion, color, and creed can pursue their individual destinies untrammeled, unafraid, and in obedience to Thy will.” Today, that prayer belongs to all of us. And as we carry his words forward, we know he will still be watching over the city and the Department he loved. His loss is immeasurable. His example is everlasting. May his memory be a blessing.

@uwchancellor what is the plan to address the unacceptable state of @BadgerFootball? The football team is the barometer of our institution and its current state is jeopardizing @UWMadison place as an elite public university. Alum need to know the plan to save our beloved school?

While Mayor Johnson takes personal credit for the decline in murders and shootings, the fact is Chicago until this year lagged far behind the nation and other major cities in the decline in violent crime. Ignored is the two individuals primarily responsible for the improvement. •Supt. Larry Snelling, who Johnson denies sufficient support, leaving him 2,000 officers short of full strength. Yet Johnson criticizes CPD for overtime spending that is the result of officer shortages. •States Attorney Eileen O’Neal Burke, who both Johnson and his benefactors, Dem. Party Boss Toni Preckwinkle and CTU President Stacy Davis Gates vigorously opposed in the Democratic primary. Burke’s arrival January 1 gave Snelling a prosecutor who ended Kim Foxx’s “catch and release” of even violent offenders. Cook County jail population returned to pre-COVID levels, as Burke is detaining those CPD arrested for violent crimes, serious gun offenders, and perpetrators of domestic violence. Despite the progress, the violent July 4th weekend that saw 55 shot, 8 fatally, is a reminder that Chicago has a long way to go on public safety. Chicago once again leads the nation with 215 murdered, 931 shot, 83 children shot and 14 killed, and 30 mass shootings to date.
