@TioKauma @FT I’m quite sympathetic to that view though I don’t know enough about it. I guess Studwell is talking about what you might call “ethno-linguistic” groups where the distinction might plausibly be more meaningful

@davidpilling @FT The view that Africa is made of multiple differentiated ethnicities is a myth when you consider that almost one third of the population belongs to one ethnolingusitic group (the bantu) and the other two thirds also generally belong to three or four other ethnolingustic groups.
