Why is there no widespread community education campaign to inform everyone on how they get it and how they can work out when they are most at risk? Understanding the very basics of aerosols and airborne transmission is the key to living without it.

Needs to be read by everyone breathing on the planet.. “SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID, spreads mainly by airborne transmission. So the key to preventing transmission is to understand how airborne particles behave, which requires knowledge from physics and chemistry.”

Have been asked a number of times how face masks work, and what makes N95 masks more efficient as filters to remove viral aerosols- I thought this is a helpful insight into how N95 masks enhance filtration, while allow air to flow... wired.com/story/the-phys… via @wired

For the record, as I say in article, I am staying away from indoor locations to the extent possible while the (very fast) omicron wave passes E.g. @trvrb just estimated that 5-10% of US population may be infected right now. So a small gap in N95, or infection thru eyes are risks

@JOHNJOHNSTONED ...just a for instance- was digging through talks I gave from over 20 years ago. To illustrate- I would say after the first slide (perhaps 30 seconds in) that i've already inhaled /exhaled over a million particles since starting... Its really so simple...

There is a huge void in public education on how to deal with risk of airborne transmission in businesses, schools and workplaces, mostly because public health officials and medical professionals won't acknowledge that sars-2 is an airborne disease.
