Een range van 460km op papier, in de winter schiet daar 309km van over. In de praktijk rijden wij daar een 250km mee zonder boven de 120km/u te komen. Neen, ik ben hier geen echte fan van, zeker niet gezien de kostprijs.

Mid-February already and things are feeling strangely quiet on the RDW front.
We’ve been eyeing this month for the big Tesla Self-Driving (Supervised) demonstration here in Europe, but official news is still missing. Tbh, it feels like that classic calm before the storm.
Anyone still betting on a surprise this month, or are we looking at another delay?

Ik vroeg vandaag een offerte voor een Volvo XC60 B5. Dat is dus de "fossiele versie" met een 2000cc benzinemotor.
Hou u vast wat de BIV was.

Nu is mijn huidige auto ook een XC60, maar met de 2,4 liter 5 cylinder diesel van Volvo. Dat is eigenlijk ook de motor die bij deze wagen hoort, maar hij wordt niet meer geproduceerd.
Een 2l 4 cylinder is iets te licht.
De 5 cylinder diesel is al uit de markt getaktst.
De benzine motoren zijn ze nu uit de markt aan het taksen.
Hybride motoren vertrouw ik niet echt. Ik weet niet waarom. Waarschijnlijk vooroordeel van mij.
Maar hoe dan ook. Je kan moeilijk anders gaan dan hybride of full elektrisch, tenzij je er een echt financieel offer voor over hebt.
Ik vind dit jammer.
Ik hield van de turbodiesel-motoren. 1000 km op 1 tankbeurt. Zuinig.
Maar het mag niet meer van politici.
Ook benzine mag dus nu niet meer.
Dat ze dan niet komen zagen als dat hier straks vol chinese golfkarretjes rijdt.

@Teslaconomics If unsupvsd FSD actually goes live the rational move is to use the subscription and expense it as an operating cost. That keeps capital free avoids hardware risk and lets you adapt if pricing or rules change. Buying upfront only makes sense if terms were contractually locked

@Teslaconomics Econ take: this isn’t an investment but a high-risk speculative bet. Tesla controls pricing eligibility and revenue splits so most Robotaxi upside likely accrues to the platform not owners. You also lock capital into depreciating assets. Expected value is likely negative.

I want to get honest opinions on this bc I genuinely can’t tell if this is a smart long-term move or if I’m overthinking it.
Would it be smart or dumb to buy around ~20 Teslas right now, park them, and buy Full Self-Driving outright for $8,000 per car before it ends on February 14, 2026, knowing that after that date FSD becomes subscription-only?
My thinking is this.
Once Tesla opens the Robotaxi network to owners like me, FSD subscriptions are guaranteed to get more expensive, bc the software will transform your Tesla into an $ income generating asset. That means no monthly software cost would be eating into my Robotaxi revenue, and most of the cash flow would go straight to profit.
At $99/month, you hit breakeven around 6-7 years, but Teslas can last 12-15+ years, and Robotaxis could generate income far beyond that, say ~$30K per yr. If you do the math and discount the future cash flows to the present, it’s really NOT crazy to think FSD could be worth six figures per car.
So like these days as I contemplate this, I’m constantly asking myself… am I being smart by locking in a disappearing pricing model early and preparing ahead of owner-based Robotaxi launch, OR am I being dumb by tying up capital too early on something that isn’t fully live yet?
Let me know bc it’s a discussion I’m going to be having with my significant other soon, since we’d be operating this together.

Blijkbaar heeft niemand dat na geteld.

Cumulatief rendement van 7% - 30% roerende voorheffing.
Maakt na 67 jaar ga 600.000€.
Geen rekening gehouden met kosten, beurstaksen, meerwaardebelasting...
Waarschijnlijk is 500.000€ al overschat.

@SanderSassen U bent ingenieur? Bij 72 uur stroomuitval vallen ook brandstofpompen betaalterminals en raffinage stil. EV’s met V2L kunnen zelfs stroom leveren en thuis opladen via zonnepanelen. De tegenstelling EV versus ICE klopt hier gewoon niet.
