Yet now he’s sold to the masses like a geopolitical prophet. Amazing what Skull and Bones can do. 3/ Now the fun part. In 2002, while working on a U.S public broadcasting assignment, he was: •detained by Chinese police •suspected of spying •then deported from China. Read that again. Suspected of spying. Deported. That should be a career-ending stain in a place like China. But somehow… 4/ A few years later, he’s back. Not just back. Back inside elite Chinese institutions. Public bios place him in roles like: •Deputy Principal, Shenzhen Middle School •Program Director, Peking University High School International Division •role at a Tsinghua-affiliated high school •later teaching in Beijing again.
