The council of Wellingborough have agreed to a Community Asset Transfer of our premises this month, since lockdown started we have delivered over 1600 food bank parcels to beneficiary’s doors and reported an increase of food parcel requirements this year by 37%. #achievement

Through our meal distribution team last Sunday #WellingboroughHomelessForum provided a “Distraction Packs” to those staying in the hotels and houses to give them things to occupy their time during this pandemic. #givingmore #helpingothers

In regards to hot meal service for the homeless, the Daylight Centre and our volunteer teams deliver 50 hot meals every lunchtime to 11 locations around Wellingborough. without their help mouths would not be fed. #mealsforthehomeless #volunteers

We were delighted that #Coop has helped recompense us for lost product after the break-in we had. This is an important time for all Foodbanks to maintain a steady supply of food donations, an incident like this is very unwelcome. Thank you #Coop for stepping in and supporting us.

Our volunteers who make all of this possible assemble packs with 7 different meal choices and also 4 volunteer delivery drivers to take these to the families involved are all amazing, we are so lucky to have them help us out! #volunteers #helpinghand

In regards to our delivery, the meal service is free of charge to the Foodbank clients, which is being funded by grants and individual donations. We at the Daylight Centre are enormously grateful for this opportunity. #deliveryservice

A quick heads up we are currently delivering a frozen meal and a dessert to 20 families twice a week We are expecting to build this up to 100 meals and 40 families per day over next 3 to 4 weeks. #staytuned #update

Our meal service at Daylight Centre, that are sent to the foodbank called #familyinpoverty, started last week. So far 20 families received our chilli main courses and sponge puddings.

Just a quick heads up, keep an eye out on our Facebook page to see what items we need. (facebook.com/daylightcentre) The items needed for today are tinned tomatoes, tinned vegetables and fruit juice, as well as jarred cook-in sauces and pasta.
