Is it just me that finds it incredibly sad how Gazza comes across in interviews now? The footballing world seems to avoid talking about the obvious - he looks frail & he sounds terrible. He waffles and mumbles his way through every answer or anecdote. His stories aren’t hilarious. They’re quite desperate. He was such a top player and he was a real character. But he was a vulnerable young lad and that vulnerability it still there. Nobody ever calls it out. Instead they talk about how well he’s doing and how funny he is. Surely the kindest thing to do is speak the brutal truth and see if he can get proper help?? Not pander to a spectacle every 18 months or so and ignore the obvious?
