Just popped in to once again mention, there is another way. This is a Bluesky starter pack that will get you started following nice people from Birmingham. If that's what you're looking for go.bsky.app/41Nsqn8

@dazwright @s8mb @willperrin An understandable request, but one in six of all rail journeys in Britain are on Crossrail 1 - now the Elizabeth Line - 700,000 a day…

New from the Greater London Project: a plan for a leaner, more affordable Crossrail 2 that can actually get built. Only needs three new stations (not 10) and 13.5 km of new tunnels (not 35km) and involves upgrading a lot more existing lines rather than building new ones.

This is bizarre. Not the nickname thing. The willfully being offended thing. Whether you agree with the Government's response to fascist riots is one thing, pretending the Government have said nothing about it is odd. It takes less than 5 minutes to find out this is just wrong

I can’t imagine if Jewish people were being hounded on the streets by far-right lynch mobs that Kid Starver would be this quiet. The hierarchy of racism that Diane Abbott spoke of is real.

@Frances_Coppola @FlipChartRick It's something I want to understand more. The narrative, to me, has always been "Thames Water have done nothing but take profits" but I'm aware they have funded one of the most amazing infrastructure projects in the UK. I'd be interested to know if that helped sink them

Labour should come clean about their cuts to the Conservatives’ New Hospital Programme that was set to deliver 40 new hospitals for communities by 2030. A thread: (1/6)

@VictoriaAtkins @Keir_Starmer I would suggest that the 9 years it's taken to build the hospital in Sandwell is possibly not something to boast about

Rachel Reeves says she will not take forward adult social care charging reform and the cap on care costs. During the election campaign Wes Streeting said Labour were committed to the cap. 1/3

"One of the things we have committed to is the cap on care costs" Shadow health secretary Wes Streeting agrees it's not "fair" that a viewer's mother has had to spend £430,000 during the seven years she has been living in a care home #BBCLauraK bbc.in/4enPWLG

@CharlesTTHF I'm not sure they really understand quite how much care costs at the moment. Care for both my parents is currently £16k a month. This is just a mind boggling amount of money

Whilst our pre-welfare state social care charging system continues to exist, people will continue to face a care cost lottery - with those with the greatest needs bearing the highest costs. The cap could have been a first step towards Labour's National Care Service. 3/3

@Sharl @joriamramos I've quite for Nick Cave. I've tried really hard and given him more money than I ever intended to but cannot get through more than two or three listens of his albums. I realise that is a minority view amongst men of our age

I really miss 'the album' as a piece of art. Any recent bands/groups still making great albums? I'd love some recommendations And no... setlists are... not the same

@dazwright I think 'something with a concept' is pretty much what I'm looking for I'm quite eclectic (from ululating religious chanting to prepared piano experimental pieces), but I tend to gravitate towards progressive rock and french house, if that helps
