In honor of #RareDiseaseDay and the start of #AmyloidosisAwarenessMonth, we want to share with you the stories of Rachel and Nassir. Both contracted #Amyloidosis, a rare disease that causes toxic protein build-up in organs throughout the body. It can affect a variety of organs, including the heart, can onset quickly, and is often fatal if left untreated. Nassir’s case was caught quick enough and he survived; Rachel sadly passed away.
