POTUS says that the US cannot guarantee the safety of Iranians traveling to the US.
Not sure if this applies also to Iranian-Americans already here. Or people who look somewhat Persian. Will await further guidance.

Essentially it appears the “imminent threat” rationale from the Trump admin was: Israel signaled it would launch strikes against Iran, Iran would retaliate likely against the US, so the US had to join Israel and preemptively strike Iran first
