Menopause is a natural stage of life affecting over 130,000 women in Jamaica, ages 40–55 yet many suffer in silence and lack support. We took it to the streets, should there be more education, therapy, and support, or is it simply a life stage? Drop me a comment on this issue.

Most people aren’t willing to do what is necessary because they aren’t willing to objectively assess themselves and their goals. If you want to be a professional footballer then you have to put in the work AND go where you can be scouted, not just have talent and hope someone finds you. Most people go through life hoping things work out rather than studying role models who have done it and leave recipes behind so that others can repeat their success. It’s simple but not easy.
Sahil Bloom@SahilBloom

The older I get, the more I realize you have to do what’s necessary, not what’s comfortable. The gap between your goals and your reality is filled with painful, boring work. Most people avoid it, which is why it’s so valuable. Master the ordinary to create the extraordinary.

@AndrewHolnessJM It is needed! People need to know where funds are allocated and its impact. I personally have donated and wondered how and where it is being utilized.

All funds raised for disaster response are managed under Jamaica’s fiscal and financial rules. Whether funds are placed in the Consolidated Fund or the Disaster Risk Fund determines how they can be used. Funds in the Consolidated Fund are at the Government’s discretion, while those in the Disaster Risk Fund are restricted to specific disaster-related purposes, unless a donor or lender specifies otherwise, which has rarely occurred. In terms of relief spending, we have so far utilized what we had in contingency budgets and the Disaster Risk Fund itself. In other words, the Government has been using Jamaica’s own resources first, as these are immediately available and fully accounted for. Additional funds continue to come in, and we are monitoring the inflows closely. I will ensure that the next time I speak publicly, I provide a full and detailed accounting of all funds received, allocated, and spent, so that Jamaicans have full transparency regarding our disaster response and reconstruction financing.

Here are some powerful photographs I took in #Jamaica that show the overwhelming destruction wreaked by #HurricaneMelissa. Thank you @AndrewHolnessJM for your leadership, be assured my colleagues and I at @BarnabasAid will do what we can to help. Galatians 6:10

En route to our western parishes to look at the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa. At this time, we’ve coordinated with the NWA and JDF to have patients moved to Mandeville from Black River. Once we’ve assessed the situation, we’ll be able to act and provide the necessary care.

I am heading to the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 80) in New York, from September 23 to September 26, 2025. This gathering of world leaders presents a vital platform for Jamaica to reaffirm its commitment to international cooperation and shared action in confronting global challenges.

My constituency is always festive; there’s always something happening. In fact I have said it can be an entertainment space with its Hip Strip and the vibes and personality of the beautiful people who live there. Tonight I popped into three events: Independence Jamboree, Sippo Wednesday, and Life a Di Greatest..

Coming Soon to Tower Hill! As Prime Minister, I continue to put the needs of our most vulnerable citizens at the heart of national development. Today, we broke ground for the Village at Tower Hill, a new housing development that will bring hope and real change to the lives of thirteen Jamaicans, including five children, who are currently living in extremely poor and unsafe conditions. These families have been surviving without running water, electricity, or kitchen facilities, and have had to share one bathroom among them. That is simply not acceptable, and as a Government, we are taking action. Through the New Social Housing Programme (NSHP) under the HOPE initiative, we are transforming the way families live in tenement or “big yard” settings. On this site, we will build six strong, concrete homes: one 3-bedroom, three 2-bedroom, and two 1-bedroom units. Each unit will have its own light meter, modern sewer connections, and clean, safe walkways, all within a secure and dignified environment. The Village at Tower Hill is a symbol of what we can achieve when we put people first and work together to uplift communities.

I’m trying to remain active which is very difficult when you have many competing priorities and I am sure many of you feel the same. Notwithstanding that,we must remember that health is wealth, so we must make time for physical activities. While running at the Mona dam recently, I reflected on the history of the dam both from the perspective of being a critical water infrastructure, as well as from a recreational perspective. The lands around the dam have significant development potential and as a government that is focused on building Jamaica, we are working to build out infrastructure for essential services and leisure activities for our people.
