Believe what you want, you haven’t proven she’s not a threat. You are cherry picking evidence that supports your assertion while ignoring what doesn’t. As am I. I look at the video and it looks like he was pushed to the side by the vehicle and if had not moved he would have been under the hood. I don’t think he “should” have shot her but I would be surprised if this doesn’t meet the legal definition of threatening his life. I could be and probably am wrong about some things as evidence is specious at this point and as you’ve said major media outlets can’t be trusted.

"It's all very clear on video." It is, but not the way you think. Here's the story of how Renee Good died. She and her wife probably parked their car to interfere with ICE's movements. Her car did not completely block the road—cars could and did pass her—but her intent to cause ICE trouble seems obvious. Jonathan Ross parked his car to the left of hers. He got out and started filming using his cell phone in his right hand. He crossed IN FRONT of Good's car, even though her engine was running, which violated procedure and common sense. Good did not try to run down Ross. As Ross passed around the driver's side, she said to him, "It's fine, dude. I'm not mad at you!" This can be seen as placating, passive-aggressive, or whatever you want to read into her words. Ross said nothing. As he passed around the rear of the car, he encountered Rebecca Good, Renee's wife. Rebecca was more antagonistic, making fun of Ross filming their license plate "we don't change our plates every morning." Ross remains silent. Ross continues to circle the car, but on the left side, he switches his cell phone from his right to his left hand, leaving his right hand free. As he rounds the front corner of her car again, two more ICE agents, who have gotten out of their truck, now began to yell at Renee Good. "Get out of the car. Get out of the car. Get out of the fucking car." One agent grabs the handle of her car door and tries to open it. This drastically amps up the tension. What had been a fairly calm scene careens out of control. One has to wonder what might have happened if they had approached calmly, like typical police officers, and simply tried talking to her through her open window. Faced with the shouting agents, one trying to grab her door handle, Renee Good reacts and backs her car up, in my opinion to give her more room to make a right turn, away from the officers. There seems an element of panic here. At the moment one agent finishing saying "get out of the fucking car," Ross is at the RIGHT-hand corner of Good's car. He continues to walk, going in FRONT of her car as she is now backing up (again, against protocol), his movement and the car's movement combine to bring him rapidly to the front left (driver's side). Now we hear Rebecca Good say "drive baby drive," presumably (foolishly) telling Renee to flee. Renee's car now begins to go move and Ross draws his gun and fires. His first shot goes through the left corner of her front windshield as she's turning. She continues her turn, heading down Portland Avenue, as Ross fires two more shots. One or more of these shots is what kills Renee Good. Despite claims by some, it is unclear whether Ross was ever hit by her car. The most blurry, grainy video, shot from a distance seems to show Ross being hit, but the closer videos are much less clear. He seems to stagger a bit but whether that was deliberate hop by Ross or a graze by the car is unclear. There may have been a side-brush by the car, but Ross remains standing, not tottering or spinning, and firing. Did Ross have reason to fear for his life? I can't know. I don't think he should have feared, given Renee's previous actions, but a 4000 pound SUV is a deadly weapon. A better question might be: Even if he was in fear for his life, why did he shoot? A bullet would not stop a charging vehicle. We know this because the bullet actualy DID NOT stop the car. Instead, Good's car continued its turn and kept going down the avenue until it crashed into a parked car. A safer choice seems to be to dodge (he's already at the car's left corner) and let the car go past him. As it is, the car goes past him anyway, although it may have grazed him (again, this remains unclear). To recap: —Good was probably foolish to park in the middle of the street. —Ross made two bad choices to walk in front of Good's car twice. —The two approaching ICE agents escalated rather than deescalated by shouting, cursing and demanding Good get out of the car while grabbing her door handle. This gung-ho approach drastically increases the tension of the moment. —Once one officer grabs her door handle, Good seems to have made the very bad decision to try and flee. Her wife wrongly encourages her. —Once her car begins forward movement, Ross decides to draw and shoot three times rather than dodge. This doesn't stop Good's car, but does kill her.

@HistoryBoomer her front wheels were pointed right at him when she it the gas, you can see them start to spin. Also she looked right at him at that same moment so she knew he was directly in front of her car. it's all very clear on video.

@quatrogenarian @melsner73 @dicentra33 @HistoryBoomer In Chicago, they shot a woman 5 times because they said she pointed a gun at them. When it came to file charges against her, there was no mention of the gun. And when the court ordered that body cam footage be released to the defense, guess what happened next.

@quatrogenarian @melsner73 @dicentra33 @HistoryBoomer Yes we *can* prove it. Because he was standing to the side of the car when he fired. He was no longer in danger. Thus, not a threat. In fact, the SUV BECAME a danger to others when it became driverless.

@FalcoDeez @TheJFreakinC @SailrThe Is your version supported by video? Because here in Chicago, they shot a woman 5 times saying she pulled a gun on them. Then her indictment comes; no mention of a gun. Then the court orders body cam footage to be released. You'll never guess what happened next.

🚨BREAKING: ICE agents shot a man in the leg as he ran into his own home… while a pregnant woman and children were inside, in Minneapolis. In the video, the family is heard calling the police for help, saying ICE agents followed the man for about 30 minutes. When he reached his home, he ran inside. An agent then opened fired toward the house, hitting him in the leg. Let’s be clear about what that means. Law enforcement is not allowed to use lethal force just because someone runs. Law enforcement is not allowed to fire toward an occupied home. Law enforcement is not allowed to seize someone inside their home without a judicial warrant, absent extremely narrow circumstances. This shot was fired in the direction of a house with children inside. This was not a split-second traffic stop. This was not an imminent threat to anyone inside that home. If families are calling the police because federal agents are firing toward their house, the question isn’t whether this is normal. The question is how much longer the government will keep violating the Constitution before someone else is killed.

Ok class, what do we notice that is different in this video vs the ones we see every day now? Some questions to help prompt critical thinking: Are the ICE agents wearing masks? Are they approaching random people and asking for papers or do they have a warrant for a specific criminal? Do they throw the man to the ground? When they arrest the wrong man, what do they do? What can we learn by comparing and contrasting these videos? Fking idiots I swear

Watch this. During the Obama years, CNN did a ride along with ICE as they arrested illegal aliens with criminal histories—and it’s overwhelmingly positive.

@dbmain @splendid_pete The video shows the front left corner of the SUV hitting the officer. You don’t think the officer perceived a major safety threat? …especially based on the other officer w his arm inside the suv along w this shooting officer was dragged months earlier. Of course he did. It’s sad

Sheriff Chris Swanson, the elected Sheriff of Genesee County, Michigan, is a career law-enforcement officer, not a pundit. He became nationally known in 2020 for prioritizing de-escalation during protests. What he says about the Minneapolis shooting directly exposes how bad MAGA-era policing policies fail. Swanson calls the shooting tragic but predictable. Masked federal agents in unmarked vehicles confronted a 37-year-old woman, gave unclear commands, and then fired three shots as her car was backing up and turning away. The agent who fired was not hit, not run over, and not in the vehicle’s path. Two shots were fired as the car was already driving away. That is not lawful deadly force. That is bad policy producing bad outcomes. Swanson is blunt about the force continuum. You do not shoot people who are fleeing. You do not shoot when you are not in danger. “Tough on crime” slogans do not override use-of-force standards, no matter how loudly MAGA politicians repeat them. What follows is worse. After the woman was shot and crashed, Swanson saw no attempt at life-saving aid. No urgency. No trauma response. He contrasts this with his own deputies, who once returned fire on a suspect who had already killed two people, then immediately tried to save his life anyway. That is professional policing. What happened in Minneapolis was not. He also points to missing body cams and officers leaving the scene instead of securing it for investigation. These are not accidents. They are the results of policies that reward aggression and optics over training and accountability. Swanson makes one thing clear. Calling this out is not anti-police. Blind loyalty is what damages law enforcement. Accountability is what protects it.

It's shameful that this case had to reach SCOTUS just to determine standing. The idea that a candidate for office doesn't have the right to sue over an election law because it didn't affect them is absurd. Now the case goes back down the chain and likely back up to rule on the meat of the case - that Illinois can't count ballots past election day. Right now they keep counting for 14 days past the election. Yes- the excessive days to count ballots absolutely invites fraud and must stop

@dbmain @splendid_pete If you are standing a few feet in front of an SUV by their front left headlight, and prior to accelerating the wheels are turned left, and you see the driver turning her wheel to the right as she accelerates, are you trusting enough for her to turn the SUV prior to hitting you?
