@97mfan @War_Radar2 He is saying that 70% of our military spending was towards us companies. That doesn’t seem unreasonable considering we are buying most of the big ticket high tech items such as planes, and weapons systems.

@War_Radar2 Words have no meaning or value coming from a politician. as a citizen you make false statements and you a liable. Time to change politics and hold people accountable for what they say. Show me the $.70 of every dollar going to US. Beyond ridiculous!

The HOA said they had an assessment fee of $20,000 per house! They offered to let them pay it off in 10 years! They refused topay it Now all of the homes are being foreclosed on! Turns out the HOA took in advance of $ 300,000 in cash upfront that needs to be paid back to the construction company! If you divide the $300,000 into all the homes it’s about a $20,000 per Home fee!

@bradleybensmith @influenya @anttsinc Sounds like you just get taxed in a different manner. In Canada we call those property taxes and everyone pays them. They also contribute to 911 services and other similar services like snow removal, etc.

@KirkLubimov We got out ass handed to us on the jobs report last week and the cpi report was marginal at best. Couple that with the demand for safe haven USD, BOC rate hold, etc. have essentially offset the gain from the increase in oil. Plus the real GPA needs to roost at some point.

I overheard two employees discussing their salary negotiations. One of them said he planned to “mog” the hiring manager by maintaining intense eye contact and asking for double the offer. I am the hiring manager. When he came into my office, I let him do it. He stared at me without blinking. He demanded a senior title. He leaned back in his chair. I smiled and agreed to everything. I gave him the Senior Vice President title he wanted. He walked out feeling like the alpha. He forgot to ask about the liability structure. In this state, anyone with a “Senior” title is personally named in corporate lawsuits rather than the entity itself. We have a class-action suit regarding unpaid wages landing next Tuesday. I needed a fall guy with a high title and low liquid assets. Congratulations on the promotion.

@farming_banker @KennethCassel Never ran a business before have you? Working 5a - 12a tells me they were working mostly commercial contracts. They pay net 30 - net 90 or worse. During the downturn you would have struggled to make a sale to a homeowner unless they were desperate.

I spent a ton of time as a helper for my dad’s electrical business during the summers after the 2008 financial crisis. We were really broke. Often couldn’t pay the water or electricity bill at home for months, etc We’d work super long hours just to try and get enough money so our family could all eat. Leave the house at 5a, get home at midnight, repeat My dad and I still reminisce about one sweltering day when we decided to splurge to get an iced tea from 7-11. we searched under the seats of his truck until we found $0.79 for a big gulp and we shared it. They had free refills No drink ever tasted better

@PointyPoseidon Fair, but if you take as an assumption that this AI capex spend is actually a front for military spending, then it'd be a sneaky way to spend trillions on the infrastructure for all this without triggering an arms race with China.

I just realized that every time and drone explodes, some amount if RAM is probably permanently erased from existence. I am now starting to get on board with the conspiracy that these LLM startups are just a front for the US military transitioning to mostly using drones.

@cloudchamer @HRPSCMV I cannot see how that truck is 3500 lbs overweight. Or is this one of those government scams where they registered it at the DMV and didn’t know they should have upgraded the RGVW it to the max allowed? Do not really unsafe just under taxed.

Another overload. This truck is registered for 9000kg. Weighed in at 12500kg. Overloaded tires. All the weight is sitting on the rear axle. Overloading in this manner contributes to issues with steering, as well as poor performance in emergency braking. No pre trip completed.

@Cpt_RDubya @StephenPunwasi I ran into a tow truck driver a few years ago, new Canadian, nice enough, operated tow truck in old country. Could not figure out why jerking the car forward with his truck would not suck the car out of the ditch like back home. They don’t understand the friction coefficient.

🇨🇦: Ontario plows highway snow to the shoulder, then packs it back. … that creates a ramp on outside corners, like one on the highway 7/8 exchange. At least two vehicles went flying over the edge yesterday, killing at least one.

One employee asked if she could stay fully remote. She said she’s more productive at home and has to care for her parents. I told her "Absolutely." We’re flexible and parents health comes first. She can stay remote, but we requested her to still come in once a month to “stay connected to the culture.” She smiled with relief and agreed immediately. She booked her train for the next three months in advance. What she doesn’t know is that our layoff spreadsheet has a column called “Office Presence.” Anyone with fewer than four badge swipes a month gets auto-colored yellow. Let's just say that my 2026 Q2 "workforce reshaping program" is on track.

We can’t undermine Canadian workers by flooding our market with cheap made-in-China electric vehicles. To protect Canadian jobs, the federal government needs to maintain its 100 per cent tariff on Chinese electric vehicles.

One insidious lie that permeates throughout Canada is that somehow Canada is better than the USA. One lie that is even worse is that it is too difficult for Canadians to move to the USA. That they shouldn't even try. It's worse because it's designed to make people feel trapped
