I get a lot of questions on BIM vs. @archilogic and wrote a short opinion piece on our blog, link below. TLDR: Because Archilogic’s underlying data is structured relationally, buildings—the world’s largest asset class—become natively compatible with AI-driven workflows. It adds an entire data vertical to existing enterprise data infrastructure. In the age of AI, we believe that’s not a nice-to-have. Buildings are the canvas on which work gets done, and we now have the tools to ensure all of them can continuously be used and adjusted as the best version of themselves. BIM does not solve that - Archilogic does. Blog: archilogic.com/insights/bim-v…

Our goal is to be the best system of record for floor plans (spatial building data in our world). Archilogic's "Custom Attributes" can be tied to floors, spaces, assets, and products. They are booleans, text, or numbers (lists will follow). In combination with SpaceGraph, this ensures we can cover any business logic our clients wish to replicate. For example, defining an "Area" as a superset of Spaces. Or a department that is not spatially constrained and distributed across Spaces and Assets (desks). Custom Attributes are read/write via API. Lastly, they can be part of nested queries such as "Show me all smoke sensors of type B in meeting rooms greater than 200 sq ft that are labelled as faulty." These queries can be made in our apps or from external systems, for example @MicrosoftTeams

Archilogic ↔ @zapier Floor plans are spatial building data. You can now connect Archilogic floor plans and Custom Attributes to your business logic using Zapier. For example: - push occupancy data into Archilogic so those editing the plan have all the info they need at their fingertips - trigger facility services workflows by floor planning changes that have been signed off

"What's the total window area for my floors in New York?" Our @MicrosoftTeams AI Bot can now create portfolio wide summaries and also answer questions about things like window area and dimensions thanks to the updated underlying GraphQL API which can also be used directly by developers.

Tired of manually poly-lining your floor plans? Archilogic runs on a graph-based spatial data model and automagically creates what you need, including BOMA and any variations thereof. bit.ly/4aAdhqM

while our building data at @archilogic data may seem like a nicely hierarchic dandelion it's actually a bit more complex - adding relations and filtering this graph for space connectivity reveals lots of insights - like a missing door and a disconnected space

The $/sqft analysis @bobbyfijan does of residential floor plans is amazing, but its *even more amazing* when you codify the rules and automate running them at scale. Here are 100 apartments being analyzed using @archilogic's Space Schema.

We launched DXF export in our editor. Kudos to @fredric_ and team! Which other export formats would you like to see and how could they support your workflows?

What's missing is the complete pipeline between assets for construction, assets for marketing, and for long term maintenance. This is a massive opportunity.

I personally prefer simple black & white floorplans to color. Makes it easier for me to understand them. The color and designs are distracting. But I'm curious what others think. Which do you like better? Vote/comment below
