Always struggle to give a decent level of insight to games I’m at, so all I can say is fair play to this lot for the level of fight they showed there. Could’ve easily folded at 2-0 and the second is appalling to concede, but the right changes were made at the right times.

@MarshallSuite Which I think was fair at the time! Really pleased to have been proven wrong though, a serviceable starter at this level, still only 23 and really valuable in possession - let's see if he fancies a season in the Champ.

Think it's important to acknowledge when you misprofile/misjudge a player - Bueno a good example of this for me. He was never going to be RAN, but his ball retention has really improved and he navigates tight spaces well. Some good interchange with the CMs in there too.

Sloppy for the most part there which doesn’t really bother me in pre season. More worrying was how easily we were bypassed in midfield multiple times. Beginning to feel sorry for Hugo Bueno too, just not at the required level.

@dbutleranalysis Think one of the first signs of any good performance is getting the ball in between defence and midfield of the opposition regularly and we did that so often in that first half. Just a shame what happens from there

Just Andre with a no look, first time, line-breaking flick against Palace. Look how quickly the dynamic of our attack changes when we move the ball vertically and at speed. So, so good.

I’m happy to engage in fair criticism of RE up to this point, but the “we were X points from safety when he was appointed now we’re Y” is as poor faith an argument as you’ll see. Are we to assume all the teams above us have picked up 0 points in that time? Just nonsense.
