The Kavanaugh stops are heading in the expected direction. Nice job, Justice Kavanaugh. Your reasoning will go down is history as a tragic joke. This should not happen in America. “Show me your papers”. m.youtube.com/watch?v=LsCAbe…

🚀 Phi-4 is here!  Today Microsoft launched Phi-4, our latest Small Language Model in the Phi series. It excels on graduate level questions in science, and is great on coding. Congratulations to the Microsoft Research and Azure teams for the launch! Link: lnkd.in/gbvPGGE5

Microsoft Research is live in Japan! I'm excited that our new MSR Asia Tokyo lab is official, under the strong leadership of @yasumat. Tokyo joins our recent new sites in Nairobi and Vancouver, with more to come as MSR expands around the globe. news.microsoft.com/ja-jp/2024/11/…

The Rust verification tool Verus aims to make formal verification more widely available to developers, helping them create software that behaves as intended. Learn about the work, an award winner at SOSP ’24, w/ Chris Hawblitzel & Jay Lorch on “Abstracts”: msft.it/6017WXtX1

@jennwvaughan Good luck Jenn! I've run 5 marathons, and what i always tell people is that it's 26.2 miles, and the .2 matters! Cheering for you from Austin.

Hey New Yorkers! If you’re out along the marathon route tomorrow, look for me and my husband Jeff. We had so much fun last year we made the crazy choice to run again. The positive energy from the crowds keeps folks going for 26.2 miles, so if you pass by the race, give a cheer!

As someone who has been a journalist for almost 40 year, working as a senior writer at the New York Times, Newsweek, etc, the decision by @WilliamLewis, a Murdoch alum, to cripple the @washingtonpost by abandoning endorsements, is one of the most craven actions I've ever seen../1

This is disingenuous and silly - aggression disguised as commentary. People are angry because it’s a telling sign that the owner of the paper doesn’t want to cross Trump and is afraid of repercussions of doing so. People who value civic democracy understand this.
Byron York@ByronYork

The collective freakout over the Washington Post non-endorsement shows 1) the degree to which staff believed their endorsement really mattered, and 2) deep need in liberal circles to believe that the Washington Post was on their side.

I've just proudly cast my vote for Kamala Harris. I hope that all of you do too, as early as you can. This is the most inportant election in at least half a century.

@business It's early, but this is a huge milestone. Even at equivalent yields this progress lowers risks and increases resilience for our entire industry. Good news for TSMC, NVDA, AMD, and the whole cloud industry.

@jonmasters If only there was a language that allowed you to program in high-level semantics, had a tractably simple compiler, and generated hardware designs as efficient as hand-optimized RTL. Stay tuned.

I’m excited to announce that today I’m joining @Microsoft as CEO of Microsoft AI. I’ll be leading all consumer AI products and research, including Copilot, Bing and Edge. My friend and longtime collaborator Karén Simonyan will be Chief Scientist, and several of our amazing teammates have chosen to join us. @InflectionAI will continue on its mission under a new CEO, and look to reach more people than ever by making its API widely available to developers and businesses the world over. It’s been an amazing journey, with so much more to come. Thank you to everyone for your support. Things really are just getting started.
