We currently use DST for about 7.75 months of out 12. Moving to permanent standard time would mean much less light in the evening for huge portions of the spring and autumn as well as the summer.
It would be horrific. We should either move to permanent DST, or do nothing.

The CDC says shredded iceberg lettuce served at Taco Bell has been linked to a parasite outbreak. The agency states shredded iceberg lettuce supplied by Taylor Farms and served at Taco Bell locations in Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and West Virginia has been linked to the outbreak. People in those states are being told not to eat the lettuce while the investigation continues.

@ShaneSchaetzel Exactly the problem, we’ll have States deciding what time setting they want to use.
Time zones become broken & you’ll have to set your clock by the State you’re traveling through. Takes us right back to when we created Time Zones in the first place.

Here’s a crazy idea for the Daylight Savings Time (DST) debate. Maybe we should just let the states decided what they want to do. The feds can set up an either/or option, and each state can decide what is best for them. Crazy, I know, right? I mean, local people deciding this?

@dcfanstv @cloverbloom_ I'm driving to work in the dark either way; you'd have to move the clock back two hours to change that. At least with permanent DST I'll have sunlight on one side of the abyss.

I fear some people don’t understand how the rotation of the earth works and think if daylight savings is permanent they’ll have their summer sunset time in winter too. No sweetie. That’s not what’s gonna happen
