@RogueCfpb @stevemagness Who’s the say the 19 year old is always going to be bigger/faster/stronger than the 18 year old? Some sports with the transfer portal and NIL have changed things, but coaches want an athlete they can grow and mold, they don’t want someone who’s already hit their peak

I didn’t. But you find me a football, basketball, lacrosse, etc coach, who doesn’t want the 19 year old freshman, who is bigger, stronger and faster than 18 year olds, and I’ll re-evaluate my position. They don’t exist. They all want them bigger, stronger and faster, and given human development, that means older.

@stevemagness @dcjorgenson College coaches 100% want the older kids. And it’s not even close. Across the board, every college coach prefers a kid who is a 19 year old freshman rather than an 18 year old freshman

@I_Coach_Speed @stevemagness I think in a vacuum, if everything else between two recruits is similar, it makes more sense to go with the younger recruit. A dominant athlete will get noticed at any age, I guess I think it would make more sense to see star athletes try to skip grades vs being held back

@dcjorgenson @stevemagness It will not stop or slow down that athletes recruiting. You think any of these P4 football/BB coaches care if a kid if 19 vs 18 as a freshman? It’s not for me but I’ve seen it work so I totally understand why some do it.

@dcjorgenson Yes. And college coaches do the same. We had many conversations on this kid is young/old for their grade. Or hasn’t fully matured vs. looked really mature. Coaches aren’t idiots for the most part.

@ImAureus That's kind of exactly my point. The other guys here (especially Leo) may have a better average in terms of the films themselves, but in terms of raw acting talent... I think it's an easy call

@runliftrunlift To each their own! I’ve just never cared for Hokas, they’ve always felt like bricks to me. The Vomero Plus has been one of my favorite daily/recovery shoes, but all that matters is running in what’s comfortable for you!

@dcjorgenson I tried the Vomero plus but wasn’t blown away. Have been meaning to try on the premium, thanks for the reminder.

15km base run Maiden voyage in the Bondis. It wasn’t “love at first run” but with some shoes you need a few rounds before they settle. Either way, these will be mainly for walking and shorter easy runs. Back to the Asics for my next run.

@CmlbUs @Hybridathlete Yea I still do dynamic warm up before a track session or I’ll do some exercises to strengthen my glutes at night. I just used to think if I didn’t static stretch after runs or foam roll before runs I’d be really sore and I haven’t noticed a difference at all

Stretching before an easy run is a waste of time. Just start slow and ease into it.

@mindyisser Just go to a running store, try a bunch of shoes on, and the ones that are the most comfortable are most likely the ones that will be the best for running economy. Just don’t pigeonhole yourself to only trying on stability shoes; a store employee will always force them on you

@stevemagness Sounds like you may be jealous if you weren’t able to get one of these because of the sit and reach 😂 (found this cleaning out my garage shortly after seeing this tweet)

Many elite distance runners have horrible flexibility. They can't come close to touching their toes. Why? A stiff spring can be beneficial. Some research found the worse you do in the sit and reach test, the better your running economy.

Bombing Iran in the middle of negotiations, while starving Cuba, while genociding Palestinians, while threatening to invade Greenland… the US and Israel are the single greatest threat to humanity and it’s not even close. We are all forced to live in the nightmare they create.

In the past few days, I've had people get offended that I... -said a 2:46 marathon wasn't elite but a serious amateur. -called 9+ minute pace jogging. -recommended that people don't need to carry a water bottle on shorter runs. Social media makes us hyper reactive to everything.
