I've really contemplated posting this but feel it's time. Rise Up puts in a ton and I mean a ton of behind the scenes work. Scouting kids, providing accurate and honest feedback. Actually putting eyes on them. We NEVER write about a student athlete we haven't seen ourselves. For other outlets to take what we have provided and spin it for their own is one thing but then to put it behind a paywall for parents to pay for what we have already provided free (unless they have purchase a full scouting eval) is ludicrous. #riseup #knowhername @alyxwhite_

WARNING: Long post incoming but please read if you have a second👇 As many of you know, I cover girls basketball on the side while also working a full-time job. This summer, I’d love to take time off of that job to cover the major tournaments in the area — but to make that happen, we’re launching something new. @riseupsports1 In addition to our usual free write-ups, we’re now offering a *reserved media option* — this includes photos, video, and detailed player write-ups — for a competitive cost. I wanted to keep the pricing affordable because I believe these girls truly deserve the recognition. This *does not* mean we’re stopping free coverage. Our content is not hidden behind any paywall and it will remain that way this summer! We’ll be sharing the forms soon where you can reserve a media spot or submit your schedule for potential free write-ups (you can also scan QR code below). While we can’t promise we’ll catch every player that submits a schedule, we’ll do our best to see as many as possible. I want to say a huge thank you to Tonia Witt, the owner and founder of Rise Up, who has been incredibly supportive in helping me brainstorm the ideas I bring to her (even if they seem a little crazy at times😂). Got some news to share🚨⬇️ I think a lot of yall saw this post a couple of weeks ago, but after a lot of thoughts and conversations, I have decided to step away from PGH to focus on Rise Up while also having the chance to continue growing my graphic design work at the same time. @PGHKentucky has been great to me and I have nothing but good things to say about the people at Prep Network & all the other PGH writers I've gotten the chance to build relationships with. You can still expect to see the same stuff from me on here, but I thought I should share that news to let y'all know where my focus will be going forward!! Big things coming for @riseupsports1 ‼️
