It is with great honor that I announce a historic victory. The Compton family has survived the flu that ran rampant in our household since returning home from New York last Saturday. Christmas plans were cancelled, an ear infection spawned, & chaos took place. We fought We hydrated We medicated (and by medicated I mean we had to step into the octagon with our kids to get it in their mouths) And today we stand fever-free, flu-free, and finally enjoying a normal routine. I’d also like to take a moment to acknowledge the elephant in the room: dad was the only one that didn’t get sick. Some are calling it a Christmas miracle. Others are calling it genetics. To the flu: please don’t do this again To the ear infection: shit timing on your part And to the lack of sleep: I’m sure we’ll see you again soon Thank you to the dads out there that stood in solidarity (Papa Team 6), thank you to New York for a war I didn’t know I needed, & thank you to my ancestors for this bloodline (Also shoutout my wife for continuing to be a bad ass during Christmas time while having a fever.)
