@TheBrickCastle we have been inundated (love that word) with post from the local Labour guy. I’d say dozens of letters (personalised), leaflets etc. Other parties, not so much.

The Tory Party have reached the "don't vote for them because they smell of wee" stage so early. I really don't know where they're going to go next. If only they had something useful to offer, then they could talk about that instead of just slagging the opposition.

@TheBrickCastle @AndyBurnhamGM actually a rule for life: Before you moan about someone, ask yourself if you actually know what their job entails. That mentality of “how hard can it be?” is more common now with social media giving folk a false impression of their own knowledge. Humility is a learned skill.

@dderbydave @AndyBurnhamGM I think anyone moaning about their Mayor just doesn't realise what he's actually achieving, and how different it would be with someone in charge who does nothing. But yep, people will still complain 😄

What can I say other than a huge thank you and that I’m overwhelmed by your support. I love this job, the people of this city-region and I promise you this third term will be the best yet for Greater Manchester. I will do my best for everyone, whether you voted for me or not.

@TheBrickCastle @BladeoftheS I suppose dishonest folk could grab a card and vote twice. I personally don’t see the problem with holding photo ID’s and it was well advertised that you could get this long before the election if you didn’t have a driving licence or passport.🤷🏼‍♂️

@TheBrickCastle @strategywoman I’m the same way. Love cathedrals - Cov and York. Love old churches and the lingo - reredos, chancel, rood screens. They have a solemnity and solidity I find appealing. Always a bit cold tho.

5:32 pm in #Kyiv Today, I managed to go inside St Sophia Cathedral and took many photos for my book. To remind you: the last time I tried to do it on Monday, but it is closed on Mondays. I show you the interior of the second floor and the views of the first floor from it. The cathedral was built in the 11th century and it remained almost unchanged since that time. There is a legend, known since ancient times: as long as the mosaic of the Mother of God Oranta (you can see it from 44 seconds to 1 minute appr) shines on the altar of St Sophia, the city of Kyiv stands.

@r3b3lassass1n Yes! Shortage Doctors posts are being filled by Physicians Associates (i.e. bio-science degree & 2 years training) and there hasn't been enough of an outcry, so now they're doing it with Dentists. It's a great example. Probably be mostly okay for everyday boring stuff.

The Tories made it impossible to get a Dentist, so now all the staff can have a go. Next week, cleaners try surgery.

@TheBrickCastle I recall posting about the govts reaction to c0vid being like a really bad soap opera a few years ago. Similarly the public is being led by its nose and given opinions and things to be angry about. The cynic in me says its to cover up alsorts they dont want us to focus on

@TheBrickCastle headed by the media - Daily Mail. I’m old enough to have laughed heartily at things which today we see as distasteful. I’m also mature enough to recognise the difference between what is acceptable now and then. Trigger warnings are for those who need them. not worth fussing over

I can't believe people are actually getting riled up about Terry And June having a warning it contains language that we don't use now - because we've learnt it's nicer to not be rude to people. Really? State of everything and your complaint is about people having some respect?
