Mexican cartels are dropping explosives from drones onto rural villages. 800 to 1,000 families fled Guerrero this week. Children, grandparents, entire towns forced out. This is the drone warfare we've been watching from a distance in Ukraine, now landing on civilians in our hemisphere.
You don't defend rural villages from $1,000 cartel drones with million-dollar interceptors. The hemisphere needs layered defense infrastructure built at the cost curve and geography of the threat. And it needs to happen now.

imagine if apple basically let you set up a home “server” that ran inference on that device with sophisticated models & every apple ecosystem device is a node off of that central server.
it’s complicated but if anyone can deploy hardware like this it would be them. this would allow zero marginal cost ai without any middle man with a super privacy first approach.
it would create another product category entirely. anyone remember the airport extreme?

You’re absolutely right. Ukraine has absolutely written the playbook on drone warfare - truly incredible. I think y’all should license your tech to the US, earn your billions, to continue to sustain the effort. The problem is, we’re in WWIII, now it’s all shadow proxy wars and information wars. Unfortunately Ukraine is in a direct conflict. I pray for peace, and no more senseless loss of life.

We’ve been hearing this since 2022.. The United States stopped providing aid a year ago, so leave your advice to yourself, in a year Ukraine has not fallen and will not fall.

Ukraine’s new AI-powered laser “Tryzub” can reportedly burn through Shahed drones from 5 km away.
The Ukrainian-developed system is now in final testing and has been mounted on a mobile trailer-based platform designed for rapid deployment against aerial threats.
According to developer Celebra Tech, the laser can target FPV drones at 800–900 meters, reconnaissance drones at 1.5 km, and larger Shahed-type UAVs at distances up to 5 km.
The system also integrates AI-assisted targeting and radar-linked tracking to improve detection and engagement precision.

@IballsInah @EuromaidanPress You’re not wrong. It is a phenomenal solution to the overarching problem. Swarms are still the biggest threat. But in Ukraine’s defense I think they should license these technologies to the US, earn billions, and continue their valiant efforts.

Shaheds are the most common threat Ukrainian civilians face, and these lasers cost pennies per shot to down $50k drones.
Ruzzia's economy is at the point of meltdown, and they're losing more men per month than they can recruit.

@causaliteit001 @EuromaidanPress You’re right. I’m grateful this is being developed. I think the US should license the tech Ukraine builds and bring wealth back to Ukraine in that manner. The US is under grave drone warfare threat, and the C-UAS market is projected to be in the billions of $.

@TaskandPurpose My main question is really this: do these systems provide the magazine depth and speed for countering a swarm? What about waves? There has to be more layers that aren’t just DEW. We have to be thinking layered with kinetic interceptors of some type as the “last ditch defense.”
