One issue the #CanMNT had in possession vs. Iceland🇮🇸? They'd get stuck in tight spaces They had a good wide overload here, but they weren't able to find a switch of play to change the angle, or play a good vertical ball in between the lines or in behind, until it was too late

@deProphet @Brendan_Dunlop That's exactly the time. He's already played international friendly and performed well. The team needs players that can step into the fray. Had the gaffer not thrown LDF in we'd still be wondering. Millar is not part of the future- Ralph is, and may be needed at the WC.

@CoajUnlimited @Mike_Leach1976 You must be new to football if you think any player on the pitch can’t / won’t make that mistake. It’s fairly ‘common’. Your feet get under you and you try to make a pass but you don’t have the momentum or power and that happens. It’s terrible but it happens.

I get it’s not the best XI, but the way they got sliced open on the goals is alarming. If you leave the door open a crack, good players and teams will bust it down. Those mistakes will get punished at the World Cup. They have to be more sharp. #CanMNT

@WpgGuerito Probably one of the most reasonable and rationale takes I’ve seen on this app as it relates to Miller. I think he may have a role off the field with the group as he’s a glue guy and a guy who has experience. Doubt he plays without injuries but these guys are brothers.

Miller has been a great foot soldier over the past number of years for Canada. Played out of his mind in the 2022 cycle. But sticking around in MLS stunted his growth, especially as his athleticism is fading. When all the CBs are healthy, he no longer has a role. #CanMNT

@TheMacronical @rgfray1 Priso needs time. High IQ and upside but throwing him into the lions den now would be counter productive. That blunder by Miller was bad but he’s a vet and continued playing. Something similar for Priso can crush him. It’s a friendly relax, everything is ok!

@MeadeDude @rgfray1 If any ‘fan’ looks at either goal, they’ll know both were in essence unstoppable. Second with strike from maybe 10 yards out, top bin. First was a terrible giveaway and 1v1 against a La Liga level striker.

Easily the worst half under Marsch. If everyone fit Kamal and Waterman shouldnt make the World Cup. Love Sigur but his worst performance for Canada. Choiniere and Saliba have been horrible in midfield. St Clair making no saves again. Only David and Tajon have showed up #CanMNT

@nathanfkerr @LFCYussef6 Exactly. These ‘fans’ are a joke! Two defensive blunders which are nearly impossible to stop. First was 1v1 against a top tier La Liga striker. Second was a La liga level striker getting the ball in stride with a clear strike on night. Not much most GK’s can do.

🇨🇦 Sources: The Colorado Rapids have acquired Canadian defender Kosi Thompson from Toronto FC. Deal is for $200k GAM up front + another $200k GAM add ons (up to $400k total). Thompson, 23, in final year of his contract. Likely to have chance for more mins in Colorado.

@LFCHaiden @aftncanada @dlicps Actually it works because that goes to show how many players are playing in professional, high performance environments. Of course they aren’t moving and most are local. How much talent is available or evident outside of the GTA? London? Kitchener? Windsor? Kingston?

This comparison doesn’t really work since we only have 3 professional clubs in Canada compared to however many they have in Spain. A younger sibling of mine went through the OPDL system before playing in the TFC academy for a few years and 99% of those players are local, very few would relocate just to play for either 3 of those academies.

Canada went into today's final group game needing to win to qualify for this year's World Cup. They huffed and puffed but were hit by a clinical and well organised Jamaica side. Very disappointing. 8 teams qualify from CONCACAF and we're not one of them. Where's it going wrong?

@LFCHaiden @aftncanada @dlicps So you expect players to be picked for the Spanish or Portuguese national youth teams from local / regional clubs? Of course not, they will come for pro academies. No different than the Canadian national team. TFC, CF Montreal etc. have the best players in Canada.
