I find it very funny that the US Screenings of Hathaway 2 left the Japanese subtitles for Sweet Child O Mine on the credits, yet we couldn't have the two Japanese musical montages subtitled into English for whatever reason.

@Trutown The movie is also aware of those shallow expectations. The Alyzeus is built up throughout the movie priming you for an epic showdown and intimidating threat. Instead it gets dogwalked, and the actual resolution to that build up is Hathaway's psychological breakdown

Also a result of a lack of literacy. The second book is not very heavy on action because it is meant to be a deep dive into the characters. The entire trilogy is like that and Tomino even acknowledged it at the time. Not every story needs giant robots in it every second.

Genuinely funny seeing the same people who bitch and moan that "Gundam is too much action, not enough anti-war commentary" now complain that Hathaway 2 is too much commentary and not enough war. It really is just criticism born of contempt for Japanese media.

I think the chief problem is how no matter what DC villain they pull from, they all have this generic stock anime design as a crutch. Myxyzptlk sticks out in particular looking like a Dragonball Supreme Kai and an Inuyasha character fused together, feeling oddly dated.

@FaaiqHilmi @TF_Moments Yes and no? The Galaxy Force universe is still separate from the G1 universe, they just traveled into it. Like if you traveled to another universe and founded the city of New York and a version of you was born later, he'd still be a version of you. If that makes sense.

@jdrider02 I think people are dogging on it unnecessarily. It makes a lot of sense as a constructible action figure line for kids who might be too young to handle nippers or typical model kits. It's not replacing anything besides shitty gundam infinity figures
