Hot Fuzz (2007) is one of the most tightly constructed comedies ever made. Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg pack the script so densely that almost every line ends up as a setup, payoff, callback, or sly reference to classic action movies.

Alien (1979) is endlessly rewatchable for how much restraint it shows. The creature is barely seen, the ship feels genuinely industrial, and every beep and shadow does more work than dialogue.

What is a movie that you've seen hundreds of times but still enjoy watching it?

Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) gives us Sarah Connor, not Conner. One of the fiercest characters ever put on screen. Linda Hamilton’s transformation is legendary, turning her into the spine of the entire franchise.

Who is a well written strong female character in a movie or TV show?

The opening credits of The Sopranos are iconic. Tony driving through Jersey to “Woke Up This Morning,” cigar in hand, industrial sprawl rolling by. In a minute and a half, you know exactly who this guy is and what world you’re in.
