Something terrible almost happened in NYC on Saturday night the day after the Ripple party but thankfully God is always looking out for me… My two friends and I were looking for sushi at 4 in the morning after we just got done clubbing but we found a pizzeria instead. After we ate we started talking to some girls from Utah. They were very nice tourists just like us and it was a friendly conversation. Then out of nowhere some random guy comes up to me and asks why I’m talking sh*t… The Utah girls and I were not talking sh*t at all or even speaking to the random guy so we were confused why he came up and said that. He was basically trying to start sh*t with me for no reason but I didn’t understand why… Then out of nowhere he says that I’m not hard just cause I was wearing a Miami Cuban gold necklace. Mind you that I hid the necklace in my shirt before we even started waking the streets of NYC and he still saw it like if he was looking for something valuable. Almost like his intrusive thoughts got the best of him and he was gonna try and rob me from the very start. That’s the whole reason why he made up that we were talking sh*t when all we were doing was talking to some Utah girls and having a great time. We walked to the front of the pizzeria where there were witnesses but obviously New Yorkers just looked away. It was still enough for the potential robber to back off a little. Then I spoke to a New Yorker in the pizzeria and he told me that’s just how NYC is sometimes… WOW… The potential robber was still waiting for us on a corner to make a move so we walked to the other corner and got inside a taxi and immediately left. Things could have gone bad if we weren’t in front of the pizzeria where there were witnesses cause that was the only reason the guy backed off a little. This weekend was my first time ever in NYC and can honestly say the city is very beautiful and parties are super lit but some New Yorkers truly lived up to their reputation of being mean. We shouldn’t have to live in fear by just walking the city streets but here we are… Honestly have no words for how scary that situation was but I’m blessed nothing bad happened. Things could have taken a turn for the worse. Change needs to come faster than ever cause there use to be a time where things like this never happened and now it’s normal to experience this. What a sad world we live in.
