People are taking this woman seriously purely because she has good physiognomy. She looks fit, healthy, and normal. If she were slovenly or spoke poorly or had rainbow hair or whatever, everyone would just assume she was off her meds or something. But we all instinctively know that people who are out of touch with reality wear that in their outward appearance, both in the way they carry their physical bodies, but also in how they present themselves. This woman has none of the subtle physical markers that suggest she is mentally unbalanced or a troublemaker. When someone who has all the outward markers of normality says she saw something unbelievable, we listen.
