PhP and Surviving Earth are incredible but SOMETIMES it feels the animals very obviously move like they're trying to adhere to the principles of artistic animation rather than simulating wildlife.

Older documentaries had a much better sense of conveying the sheer unpredictability of animals. Twitchier mannerisms, abrupt sweeping movements that the camera desperately had to keep up with. Animals,in life, are not camera darlings, and this seems to be a forgotten art in CGA.

Yeah, we definitely are still reconstructing dinos in very conservative ways.

One of the most bizarre animals I've ever seen in person - the bowmouth guitarfish (Rhina ancylostoma). Front of body, while ray-like, is fairly deep with several isolated rows of spikes. Back of body has taller fins and a weirdly "dipped" caudal peduncle. ~9ft long

Okay, but there *is* a Jurassic Park art style, though. There is a distinct & unified way in which McCreery, Trcic, Swift, Rosengrant & the many others stylised, sculpted, & painted the shapes & surfaces of the JP dinos that is independent from their at-the-time relative accuracy

Horridus: Territorial Triceratops. An imposing bull becoming territorial. I've been picking away at this one for months, trying to push through a lot of burnout. I've decided to call it done, for now!
