As a juror. It would not have been about race. It would have been about so much more. I truly believe that he wasn’t properly represented. It wasn’t that the jury had no black representation. It was about an inept Defense team and his family who failed him. There were many people who could have testified to his nature and character but his parents wanted to make this about race. That was a great failure. Do I think he was guilty Yes. The facts are incontrovertible. Do I think there were other things that should have been taken into account yes. My biggest question is what was happening with this young man who on all accounts was a fine young man with all the promise all of a sudden get suspended from school for carrying a knife and banned from. Even being at the meet. And why didn’t his parents or Attorney Allow him to testify In how own defense. What was happening with this young man before the horrific events unfolded. Clearly he sending signals he was in crises days before the murder.
