“Don’t be scared. You’re safe now.” That’s what a woman promised to a Ridglan beagle as 22 dogs were rescued from Ridglan Farms in the rain and thunder. For years, they lived hidden in cages. Now 1,500 Ridglan dogs are going free. To safety. To softness. To the love they deserve. “You don’t have to be scared of anything anymore.” “You’re safe now.”

BREAKING: The Ridglan dogs are being released!! Nearly 1,000 beagles are being transferred to rescues before finding loving homes. After decades of abuse, these pups will finally go outside, feel grass, and see the sun. We celebrate today. And we will keep going until every dog at Ridglan, and in labs across the country, is free! 🐾

Details are still TBA. I haven’t seen confirmation yet that all ~2,000 dogs at Ridglan will be released, but signs so far are very promising. There’s a press conference tomorrow at 11am CT with more info.

@FrizzenNflint A judge found probable cause of felony cruelty at Ridglan. DATCP regulators found 311 welfare violations and referred them for criminal charges. We have nearly a decade of proof.

@dwyrzy Opinion: There is a burden of proof upon the rescuer. Not a hunch. The rescuer has to have specific knowledge of need for recue and it must be immediate. Something you saw, heard for yourself, smelled. Without that you're just a failed vigilante. With it, you have a civil suit.

I was arrested by riot police for rescuing dogs from a facility a judge says violated animal cruelty laws. The authorities knew. They refused to act. So we went in ourselves. Now I’m facing felony charges.
