@AVFCJono @AVFC_AP At least we get to give Sancho and Elliott back. I should imagine we’re going to have to accept lowball fees to get the bigger wage earners off the books. A lot of wages tied up in experienced players.

@AVFC_AP I think the sad part is how are back-up players are experienced internationals. Buendia, Bailey, Barkley, Mings, Sancho... It's genuinely quite frightening how they're only decreasing in value or are not owned by us. We need to trade players better. Recruitment has been abysmal

Might rattle some people with this but we need upgrades on quite a few players. Change of scenery is beneficial for all parties. If we finish in the CL places, we’re going to need some form of mini-semi-drastic overhaul. The gap between our experienced and hopefuls is WIDE #avfc

@Alex_Berwick It wasn’t a good night at all, but the booing confuses me. We are still overachieving and we still have a lot to play for this season. Perhaps some in the fanbase don’t believe that we are overachieving? I dunno.

Since Emery came to Villa, they’ve been 7th, 4th, 6th, 5th. Got to at least the QF of European competition every year. Fraction of the resources of some clubs. Non-big 6 trophy winners in that time finished 11th, 15th, 17th. Only exception is Newcastle, who weren’t in Europe.

@J_Tanswell I am also not losing my mind. Let’s see what happens at the end of the season. If anything, tonight showed how limited the squad is and how good Emery has been for this club. Booing at full time is just perplexing.

I am frustrated after tonight as I imagine every Villan is. My perspective is the season is 38 matches and we’re still in with a shot on Thursday. If anything tonight showed how good a job Emery is doing with a squad lacking in quality. He and they got it wrong, we move on.

FT 1-0 Lots of huff and puff as you'd expect as 2 teams go to the well at the end of the season. Forest all graft and energy will fancy going to Villa Park and getting the needed result after a hard working and gritty display. Villa woeful in attacking positions. Biggest Watkins fan but his hold up play is poor, if you can't hold it up then there's no platform to build. Buendia a liability, shouldn't be anywhere the team, he literally gives it away under no pressure 90% of the time. Rogers hype train isn't cashing the cheques he thinks he has and in Bogarde a player who's a Disasi in the making if Onana doesn't make the next leg. Konsa best half ( second half) for a while but Digne, a senior in the squad having both arms up is criminal and perhaps telling about this Villa team, technically talented but question marks about fine details. Corners an example. A team ( bear in mind Villa have a set piece guru) who's attacking corners look made up on the hoof. Fine details.
