Other filmmakers also complained about cinema issues. So why is Toyin’s own suddenly a big problem? She didn’t even mention Funke’s name. Iyaboojo are you trying to tell us that Funke is now being controlled by fans? That shouldn’t be the case. Someone of her level should be above that. Iyabo, this write up actually makes it look like Funke is wrong and angry with Toyin because of December movie and at the same time you still threw Toyin under the bus. Let’s be honest you didn’t fight Funke because of Toyin. You were already having issues with Funke and used Toyin’s movie situation to drag her that day. Toyin has every right to complain, she invested her own money into her project. Filmmakers like her and Funke put their heart, time and finances into their movies. If cinemas aren’t cooperating, it’s natural to speak up.Being upset at someone just for defending their own work isn’t fair. Funke Akindele should understand that. Sophia Momodu has consistently tried to paint him as a deadbeat, but her actions don’t line up with that narrative especially now that he’s pursuing joint custody as we all know.
Let’s break it down clearly.
In 2023, she came online crying that her “biggest fear” had happened meaning he married another woman and supposedly left her to raise Imade alone. Then in December, when his father asked her to bring Imade for vacation, she reportedly told him to give her two months’ notice before she could allow the trip.
After that, she released WhatsApp messages claiming Imade sent her grandmother a message saying her dad abandoned her after his son passed away. That moment caused serious tension and even led to fallout involving Tiwa Savage. Yet, despite all that drama, she was still asking for an increase in child support, saying what she received wasn’t enough.
Then she went online again to issue a cease and desist, accusing him of bullying her right after he was seen vacationing peacefully with his second daughter, Hailey.
Fast forward to April 17, when Davido filed for shared custody, likely to put a legal structure in place and end the back and forth. But she waited until June, around his traditional wedding, to release court documents and once again bring up his late son in the narrative.
And people still expect him to just stay quiet?
At some point, you have to acknowledge the pattern. Every time he seems happy or at peace, something surfaces indirect shots, public statements, or legal drama.
So before blaming him for reacting or taking legal steps, maybe consider that a person can only be pushed so far before they decide to protect their peace the only way they know how.
