The Food Standards Agency @WeAreFSA has admitted, in writing, to us, that their slaughterhouse inspection and regulatory system completely fails to police the religious slaughter limits.
The FSA has admitted that they are not enforcing the existing law.
The FSA is essentially admitting that the religious exemption is being abused and that they are not enforcing humane slaughter rules.
This is a highly significant admission from a legal point of view.

Local villagers said he was a 2 year old elephant. In his death he folded his legs as if he were still a baby.

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of retired State Police K9 "Bunner."
From 2015 to 2021, Bunner served faithfully alongside Retired Trooper Glen Williams, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege to work with him.
Beyond his service, he was a loyal companion and, simply put, a very good boy.
We extend our deepest condolences to Trooper Williams and all who knew him. His service and companionship will never be forgotten. 🐾🙏

A loyal German shepherd waited for his cruel owners for several hours in the blazing Texas sun after he was abandoned on the side of the road.
Several witnesses saw a man throw a large, light-brown dog out of his truck in Austin on Monday, according to Leisha, a dog rescuer, on X.
The truck took off before bystanders could get the license plate, and they also noted that the man had thrown the dog’s cage and other belongings onto the road.
'The dog remained in the exact spot where he was left for several hours, panting and refusing to move even as people approached him,' noted Leisha.
Photos show the dog lying in the shade of the home, with its cage and bed a few feet away, next to the curb.
The heat in Austin reached a scorching 90 degrees Fahrenheit on Monday, which can be especially dangerous for a dog with a thick coat such as a German shepherd.
German shepherds are among the most commonly abandoned breeds, despite being known for their deep loyalty. Many would do anything for their owners, making situations like this especially heartbreaking.'
Another dog rescuer posted a worrying update that the dog had been missing in the Walnut Creek area of Austin.

What do I think really happened with Mandelson and vetting?
In October, November and December 2024, No10 indicated it wanted to appoint Peter Mandelson as Ambassador to Washington.
It was presented with an array of people telling them not to: Cabinet ministers, spooks, officials in a vetting report. All raised major red flags.
Starmer and McSweeny made clear they weren’t interested in any objection, and this must go ahead at all costs.
So Mandelson’s appointment was announced mid December 2024.
The vetting we are focussed on today came later, in January 2025. Vetting of ambassadors is the responsibility of the FCDO and Olly Robbins.
One bit of the system said no - the UKSV agency said don’t appoint Mandelson.
We don’t know on what grounds, but probably the grounds No10 had seen and rejected as a reason to block. Olly Robbins cleared Mandelson. Very quietly, Mandelson didn’t get the very highest level of clearance when he got the job, but he got the overall OK because of Robbins. Robbins did No10 a favour.
This is because Olly Robbbins knew that going to No10 post announcement, and saying the Mandelson appointment can’t happen, was politically impossible.
And civil servants want to deliver for their political masters. So Olly fixed it for Keir: and is now paying a price.
Olly Robbins has - incidentally - done No10 a second massive political favour. The really really toxic claim doing the rounds last night was that surely someone - anyone - in No10
DID know the UKSV agency turned down the vetting
Olly Robbins is making clear he didn’t tell people the UKSV verdict because that would be inappropriate as part of the process he followed. It’s not even clear he saw it.
No10 don’t seem to realise he’s done them a favour, and are releasing documents to challenge alternative versions of events. Let’s see how it plays out.
The bottom line is No10 wanted Mandelson come what may. They rammed it through.
One quango; post appointment announcement, was never realistically going to be allowed to stop Mandelson taking the job because the top of Government had publicly committed to it. They hadn’t wanted to heed the warnings earlier; and were in too deep
That’s where I think we are

#LoboVivo

well seems we dont like your dishonesty about funding. Firstly the biggest increase since the cold war was actually under my four years. Secondly your almost weekly dishonesty of claiming i said “The Tories hollowed out defence” when i actually said “Labour and the Tories hollowed out defence.” You know that yet you keep using the quote. I served in the Army when Labour was last in power. You left us with the Snatch Land rover scandal. If you want to be credible and not a puppet of Dan the Spad start with some honesty.

BREAKING: PM visibly raging as he speaks to @SamCoatesSky on Mandelson vetting row
Starmer says it's "staggering" and "unforgivable that [he] was not told", he's "absolutely furious"
"I was not told he had failed security vetting... No 10 was not told, that is completely unacceptable."
