Drill standing inside. Outside rain every day. Good drilling conditions and best date for drilling winterwheat in Norway comes to an end soon. What about broadcast wheat followed by a shallow run with a disc harrow ?? Comments please..

@JimScarratt Interesting and daft as most road rules, tow a huge amount with no adr with a tractor but put a bowser on a 4x4 and you need to be massively qualified to tow more than 1000lt

Any of my farming friends know a company where I can get a fuel bowser? I’ve tried a few but all they seem to do are either 1000 lt fast tow behind truck or ‘site’ bowsers which don’t have brakes, lights etc. I also want decent wheels not car tyres so i can tow behind 🚜 offroad

@simonedwards333 @FarmersGuide They are a magazine publishing company that produce agricultural material, believe it or not there’s a lot of other industries unaffected directly by the iht changes but who are very concerned about the consequences of them

@agricontract No Olly exemption for house is in proportion to farm size. 10 Years ago I inherited 380acres and was only allowed £400,000 relief on the only house in the farm which was valued at 1 million leaving taxable 600k at 40% fortunately it was able to pass to my mother then gift to me

@StephensonLouis We shall see soon enough, didn’t vote for this lot either, but I do know many, if not all, of our public services are on their knees and need paying for somehow. I just hope it’s a fair budget, and that the self employed, farmers and other business owners aren’t hung out to dry!

@cutlerstom Yes ploughed in the dry and pressed twice, worst slugs for 10 years I reckon. Have moved onto former osr stubbles to pellet shed of drilling (hopefully) every large volunteer shrripped to the stalk😬, on the plus side it’s a bit sticky on to but traveling quite well

@debhallfarms Oh God… ploughed too presumably? That doesn’t bode well for less intensively moved land! Just put another dose on some pollen and nectar drilled mid Sept and it didn’t travel very well!

The sound of running water from field drains isn’t really welcome in early October with no winter cereals sown

The good news is that the plumber is pencilled in, in a fortnight, to come and fit a boiler. Which is handy, because I haven’t got time to chop wood at the moment!

Must be plenty of insects on this agricultural land as there is a mob of swallows following the drill up and down the field.
