Sometimes you just have to laugh at the absolute absurdity of New York City.
Right now, thousands of adults are marching down 5th Avenue in the annual Easter Bonnet Parade. There are no floats, just people wearing massive, ridiculous, homemade hats covered in feathers and flowers.
Happy Easter!

Easter Sunday in New York City just got a whole lot more fabulous! 🐣👒
Fifth Avenue transforms into a vibrant, colorful runway today for the annual Easter Parade & Bonnet Festival — a beloved NYC tradition dating back to the 1870s.
From 10am to around 4pm, the stretch between 49th and 57th Streets (with the best views right outside St. Patrick’s Cathedral) fills with creative energy as locals and visitors stroll in their most over-the-top, imaginative bonnets and hats. Think towering creations inspired by pop culture, vintage styles, spring florals, feathers, and pure artistic flair.
It’s not a formal parade with floats — it’s a joyful, free-spirited fashion show where anyone can join in. Just show up in your Sunday best (or your wildest bonnet) and become part of the spectacle!
A perfect way to celebrate spring, community, and the quirky spirit of New York.

Since 2009, our April Business of the Month, Waterfront Bicycle Shop, has kept cyclists rolling along w/ repairs and rentals. A regular says: “They’re not just keeping our bicycles on the road—they’re keeping the wheels of our community turning.” More: villagepreservation.org/2026/04/02/bus…
