@dschwarz26 What's the tournament called? How much better than free tools like MiroFish?

AI forecasting is now approximately superhuman. Today, FutureSearch is exiting our public beta and launching to everyone. FutureSearch is the original AI forecasting company, started in August 2023. We’re currently #1 of 194 in the most competitive AI forecasting tournament, and we score above the #3 and #2 human forecasters in the premier mixed human-bot tournaments. We’re beating the crowd on Kalshi with a pure forecasting strategy, all our forecasts and trades there are public. Thousands of people used the beta and ran >10k high-effort forecasts. Ask it anything about the future! We now support decision forecasts too: “If I do X, will I achieve this outcome?” This video shows the part we’re proudest of: world modeling. Forecasts draw on a persistent latent representation of the future, and we’ve shown it improves accuracy. The more your forecast on a domain you care about, the higher accuracy you should expect. It’s free to try. futuresearch.ai

@hutchinson Don’t mention systems to replace a system when describing a replacement system, we’d send people with mental issues to facilities instead of jail, we’d put money going to prisons into community programs that keep people out of trouble, we’d stop wasting money on cops that kill us

I just want one of you for once to tell me directly what your proposed ideal society would do with someone who SA’s a child or murders someone. I don’t want vague platitudes about systems. I don’t want any ambiguity. Just tell me what you’re proposing and be precise.
kivu’raw’nuru@kivuraw

@hutchinson If we have morons like you acting like prison abolition means we just let pedophiles and murderers run free, you disingenuous fucks so badly want to oppress people and defend the systems that don’t do shit, prisons don’t rehabilitate, prisons don’t do their purpose truly, moron

@Seph_librul I don’t know what you mean by “in the tent.” Not Democrat I take to be not a registered member of the Democratic party unless you mean something else.

List of weasel phrases: “Make clear they’re not in the tent.” “Excise them from the party.” “Kick them out of the coalition.” “Don’t treat them like they’re allies.” When pressed, people just give nonsense accounts for what the above means other than “criticize more reeee.”
Seph@Seph_librul

@thepondering_ (also @PiscoLitty ) One way liberal pundits ought to conduct themselves is to make it very clear that the extreme leftists people are responding to are not dems/not in the dem tent, no? One major complaint against dems is their lack of a coherent, specific vision to share. How can that vision possibly exist where mainstream pundits feel hamstrung in repudiating illiberal, authoritarian, puritan leftists?

This message is too saturated now! Everyone has said it (you, Klein, Cassie Pritchard every other month, Yglesias and Smoth have both addressed it) and there are like 70 days left of saying until literally everyone who listens to political podcasts has fully integrated it. Time to start arguing for your liberal, normative, and animating conception of the good life

Lots of people confuse “liberalism doesn’t hand down one correct way to live life” with “liberalism has nothing to say about what makes for a good life”

Socialists who think everything was solved in 1860 or 1917 or 1949 are also wrong. And tbh I think liberalism *could* renew itself, rediscover its ambition and its meaning-making drive to advance a program of human liberty. I didn’t say you guys couldn’t fix your problems!

Very cool, I have often thought a cool business idea could be an app that 3d scans with photogrammetry or NERFs to get some 3d model of something you like that you see while traveling (door, table, statue, chair) or whatever and that scan is routed to one of these robotic craftsmen to create the thing for you and ship it to your house. I wanted to do this with a mashrabiya bench I found in Marrakech, Morocco.

@RyanGeddie The new Klein podcast really highlights the fact that when you say "populism" the context you are discussing it in is as a shift in messaging strategy by democrats in 2026 and that the last debate you had about populism really just did not make contact with populism as it understood by modern "we should do populism" democrats. Kind of got bogged down in conceptions of populism that are not relevant to the elements of the strategic decision or your endorsement of it.
