@red_cat_bear @jeremydudet @TylerMKing It's not a macOS UI at all. It's literally just a folder. With a customised background. You don't need the background or shortcut to the Application folder even, developers just tend to add it for people not familiar with the concept of dragging the app to that folder.

@jeremydudet @TylerMKing It's lazy and ass UI, looks like if it was made by chatgpt in 20 seconds

do NOT install developer betas on your everyday phone. I repeat: DO NOT USE YOUR EVERYDAY PHONE FOR DEVELOPER BETAS they're for developers to test their stuff and to find bugs to report to Apple

Heya! This is Moe's Finale, a fancomic about our favorite Springfield bartender, Moe Szyslak. Now, I'm no Picasso, I'm just some 19 year old who's learning as she goes, so expect to see some experimentation.
Thank you for checking out my page!

@astrange_e @mrjeffu Yeah, even if you're already in Shinjuku just a few blocks away, I'd be hard pressed to walk there explicitly.

The Tokyo government spent millions of dollars on a projection mapping display for the Tokyo metropolitan government building. Opponents of Governor Koike Yuriko argue that it's a big waste of taxpayer money... (1/4)

@deceze @IonaItalia Unsupportable statement. If Chris had stayed home, others would have ventured. Vikings settled in NA for a time, and Breton and Basque fishermen and whalers likely knew of NA before Columbus. Public investment was not key to NA.

The most important thing to happen this year so far. 🚀We need to become an interplanetary species and this is our best hope of that to date.

English

@Daedalus6 @IonaItalia Well, if Chris had stayed home back then you probably wouldn't be typing this right now on your personal computing device on this here web service.
Come to think of it, that may have been a net benefit, actually.
English

@deceze @IonaItalia Survivor bias. Many if not most such expeditions ended in disaster - arguably the Darien Scheme in the 1690s ended the independence of Scotland as a nation.
English

@Daedalus6 @IonaItalia How does the expenditure the Spanish crown invested in Columbus in 1492 benefit you today…?
English

@IonaItalia @deceze How would I or my children or their children benefit from expenditure on technology for interplanetary colonisation?
English

@Daedalus6 @IonaItalia "We" = human species
Whether you can empathise with "us" in the abstract or not… does that matter?
English

@deceze @IonaItalia Who's "we" David?
My personal time horizon of concern is perhaps a few generations into the future. After that I lose any emotional attachment to great-great-great grandkids, and the crystal ball becomes too hazy.
English

@Daedalus6 @IonaItalia *Eventually* there's a hard deadline for this solar system. That's still some 5 billion years in the future, but still, it exists. Whether we still exist then is anyone's guess. Maybe not. Probably not. But we certainly won't if we stay home.
English

@deceze @IonaItalia Who's "we", David?
No reason to assume that staying at home means an "end-of-life date"
English

@Daedalus6 @IonaItalia Need some redundancy in number of planets we can run into the ground…
And eventually we'll want to become an interstellar species, if we don't want to have a predetermined end-of-life date.
English

@IonaItalia I have devoured SciFi but see no pressing need to become an interplanetary species.
Why should we?
