My personal experience with UK PhD application (funded) is that your immigration status (UK permanent residency inc. EU settlement) is wayyyy important than your academic interest & achievement.

Loitering is not a crime. The streets should belong to everyone. Hanging around, not spending money, making connections + doing do harm are NOT inherently suspicious. Too often fears are racialized, gendered, classed and stigmatizing youth. We all deserve to take up public space
