@deconverted_man And Greek mythology, timelines, etc. i e never been happier and purity culture is one of my biggest wounds yet biggest soap boxes! It’s exceptionally dangerous to women but also to men. This has been a long thread comment, but thanks for reading.

How bad was the #PurityCulture at your former church?

@deconverted_man It was very bad. I was pressured into a marriage because we were "spending too much time together and might fall to temptation". That marriage, separation, divorce, and recovery from that divorce was the worst 9 years of my life. Purity culture destroys marriages and ruins lives.

@deconverted_man I remember an Apostolic Lutheran chap telling me as an evangelical that for true salvation, I needed to be “broken before the congregation”…I passed.
