Strong people need support too. At DeeDee’s Cry, we believe no one should have to carry that weight alone. Healing happens in community. Support saves lives. If you or someone you love is struggling, know that help and compassion exist. deedeescry.org

Undiagnosed. Misdiagnosed. Underdiagnosed. These words are not clinical footnotes. They are lived experiences. For too many people, especially Black, Brown, LGBTQ+, immigrant, and low income communities, the problem is not that something is wrong with them. The problem is that the system did not listen long enough, look closely enough, or care deeply enough. Being undiagnosed can mean years of confusion and self blame. Being misdiagnosed can mean the wrong treatment and real harm. Being underdiagnosed can mean pain is minimized, symptoms are dismissed, and suffering is normalized. None of that is a personal failure. It is a systems failure. Here is the truth we need to say out loud. You know your body. You know your mind. You know when something is not right. Strategies that matter Document your symptoms. Patterns tell stories clinicians cannot ignore. Ask questions and keep asking until answers make sense. Bring an advocate to appointments when you can. Another voice can shift the room. Seek second opinions without guilt. Good care welcomes clarity. Use community based and culturally responsive providers whenever possible. Rest and protect your energy. Being unheard is exhausting. Call to action Believe people when they say they are in pain. Slow down and listen in clinical spaces. Invest in culturally competent care and mental health access. Challenge bias when you see it. Silence protects harm. Share resources. Walk with people through the process, not past them. Healing starts with being believed. Care starts with listening. Justice starts with access. At DeeDee’s Cry, we see you, we believe you, and we will keep pushing for care that honors your humanity. @DeeDeesCry
