This is why budget scrutiny matters. The National Assembly must interrogate every repeated project, while the executive should publish the implementation status and justification for every rollover. A credible budget is built on transparency, not repetition. Public funds must deliver public value. Remember, a credible budget is not measured by its size but by its ability to deliver results. #AskQuestions

If your community still needs better roads, schools or healthcare, this conversation concerns you. Between January and June 2026, Nigeria’s Federation Account generated N18.72 trillion in gross revenue. N13.95 trillion came from statutory revenue, while N4.77 trillion came from VAT. June generated the highest gross revenue at N4.50 trillion, yet only 57% was available for distribution to the Federal Government, states and local governments. February generated the least revenue at N2.23 trillion, but 85% was available for sharing. Every month, states and local governments receive allocations from the Federation Account to provide public services. Your state and local government received their share too. Do you know how much they received? You can find out on me.BudgIT: me.budgit.org/login Your state received a share of N18.72 trillion in the first half of 2026. What has that money been used for in your community? #AskQuestions #GetInvolved #DataofTheDay

There is no current record of income and spending of the Federation today. None Budget Office, DMO, CBN, MoF: no Federation record of income, Expenses, Assets, or Liabilities is current up to a 30-day cycle. I know where to check, nothing is current. So how can citizens like myself "hold" my government to account? Can you imagine going to a PLC and pulling up their accounts page and seeing "please check back"

If you're using the yellow app, turn off your location receipt sharing. It's not ideal that every person in your CL can see notifications like "___ is now in Lokogoma." For your personal safety and privacy, it's better to keep your real-time location private. Stay safe. 🫂💛

FG Launches N729bn Power Sector Bond To Clear Electricity Debts The Federal Government has launched a 729 billion naira Series 2 Power Sector Bond to settle outstanding debts and strengthen electricity supply nationwide. Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Taiwo Oyedele, announced this at an Investor Forum in Abuja, saying it builds on the first 520 billion naira series, which was fully subscribed and has already begun repayment. He stated that the bond is part of the Presidential Power Sector Debt Reduction Programme and will be used to pay verified obligations to generation companies and gas suppliers with the aim of improving liquidity, boosting plant availability, and restoring investor confidence in the power sector. The Minister linked the reform to wider economic gains, citing 3.9 percent growth in the first quarter of 2026, and called on investors to keep partnering with government as it works to stabilise the economy and attract long-term capital.

Government cannot budget as if manna will fall from heaven. Our Global Director @seunonigbinde called this months ago on an episode of Extra Sheet, where he explained what colour of problem this is. Nigeria planned to spend ₦54.99 trillion in 2025. But government didn't have ₦54.99 trillion sitting in the bank. It expected to fund the budget through: • Revenue • Borrowing • Deficit financing. Now here's the catch. Whatever revenue comes in doesn't go straight to building roads, schools or hospitals. Government first meets its unavoidable obligations like debt servicing and other recurrent commitments. Capital projects are often left waiting. That's how projects meant for one budget cycle end up in the next. If you're wondering why government projects in Nigeria drag on for years, listen to this 👉 instagram.com/reel/DV_G4ATCt…
