Anytime I watch O'Reilly I just feel bad for Myles Lewis Skelly, both started at LB even though they are both natural midfielders then Pep integrated O'Reilly into the midfield as a pivot while MLS wallows on the bench.. It's sad to see how MLS's career is going...

People are saying Lewis Skelly lacks the awareness defensively to play midfield. Okay, what about his threat from deep? Why not have Rice cover him and let him have less defensive duties? Zubi offers nothing in our build up and offensively

🚨JUST IN: Rio Ferdinand has claimed that Arsenal’s £60m star isn’t quite as good as many people believe. Rio Ferdinand has raised doubts over Martin Zubimendi’s quality following Arsenal’s 2-0 defeat in the Carabao Cup final. Rio Ferdinand has questioned Zubimendi’s performance against Man City as Arsenal failed to progress the ball forward. Arteta’s side wanted to get the ball to Rice, but they had nobody willing to drop deep and take the ball off the centre-backs. The former Manchester United defender claims that it would not have been the case if it were Toni Kroos, Luka Modric and Rodri. Speaking about Arsenal’s midfield, he told Rio Presents: “I think they were trying to get Declan Rice the ball beyond that press, beyond that front four that were pressing. “I think that was the main issue of getting the ball to him, Zubimendi is the one who’s meant to come deeper and be the dictator. “But they didn’t have anybody capable who looked like they had the confidence or the know-how to do that, and that’s when you find a player that goes, ‘Give me the ball now’. Via [@afcnewsroom] Do you think he’s right about Zubimendi?

Even when we try to move on from Thomas Partey, Zubimendi keeps reminding us what we’re missing. Partey used to own these big games, dictating tempo, breaking lines, controlling chaos like it was nothing. Zubimendi? When the pressure hits, he fades… becomes invisible when we need him most. I still remember Partey running the show against Manchester City in that 5-1 win — pure dominance. And that moment… coming off the bench alongside Martinelli and Tomiyasu, one pass from midfield, game changed instantly. That’s impact. That’s presence. Say what you want, but the only real upgrade Zubimendi has on Partey is availability. And if Mikel Arteta keeps running him into the ground without managing him properly… we might lose him before he ever truly arrives. Football doesn’t wait. Pressure doesn’t wait. Big games definitely don’t wait.

@Mo_Arsenal9 Zubimendi is only far better than party when it comes to availability. This is the most important. But with that reasoning, if Gabriel left us last summer, Mustafi would be a better defender than him because he would have also not helped Arsenal win a major silver ware.

@Mo_Arsenal9 Zubimendi is shit.. Whether he rejected many teams doesn't matter when his failing to do his job on the field of play.. Thts guy is playing nonsense.. We used to enjoy football when we had Thomas in midfield bt we had no lethal finisher who take us far..

@obainodegreat @Mo_Arsenal9 Only Partey afforded us to play with a lone 6, Zubi can’t even dream of doing that. Maybe Rice could play that tole in the future, but even Rice lacks the technical ability for that.

@Mo_Arsenal9 Because the whole team shifted and adjusted. How many times have you seen Rice occupy the 8 position? The formation was adjusted to suit Zubimendi. If Mikel attempts to play a 4-3-3 with Zubimendi as the 6, he will be overwhelmed and overran .

Thomas Partey didn't help Arsenal win any major silverware during his time at the club. On the other side, Zubimendi is a generational talent. A true midfield maestro who brings composure, intelligence, and control to the game like few others in his position. He also rejected offer from like Real Madrid and Liverpool to commit to Arsenal, choosing the project under Mikel Arteta. Let's stop disrespecting Martin Zubimendi just because of fondness for the former player.

@Mo_Arsenal9 I was telling some idiots this yesterday when they were trying to put Partey over Zubimendi. Partey played for good 4yrs without delivering a single trophy and they wanna rubbish the good work of someone who came few months ago and is about to clinch the EPL title

Martin Zubimendi doesn't do the things we've seen Thomas Partey do with our own eyes. Martin Zubimendi is evidently not better than Thomas Partey. He is shorter, less athletic, slower, has less body strength, and makes less progressive passes than Partey. The truth is not disrespectful. It is just true.

@Mo_Arsenal9 You can always tell those who don't watch games. There's not been a single game where we haven't missed Partey (his profile of player, not the person). There's nothing ''Generational'' about Zubimendi. He only starts for Spain because the current midfield crop is mid.

@Mo_Arsenal9 Since Partey left this club, i can count the number of matches we totally had control and kept the ball confidently actoss the pitch not just in our own half. Bery few matches, our games haven’t been enjoyable to watch even majority of the matches we won.

@Mo_Arsenal9 So you seriously want to tell us Zubimendi is better than Partey? Do u even watch football? Or you’re just judging based on nationality? Since Zubi is spanish, he must be good.

Look at the way havertz caresses the ball down in some of these clips and compare it to what that bodybuilder does upfront.

@tweettweet1322 @KafajiComps Even elite mids make mistakes, if u want tonplay progressive football, it’s risky, but that’s the only way to attack in open play. U can’t keep making safe and sideways passes for 90 mins waiting for a set piece goal to win a match.

@KafajiComps Takes too many chances on the ball, there’s going to come a time where he loses the ball in midfield and he can’t recover for shit as he has no recovery pace and the other team score. There’ll be more than an instance of this and fans will get on his back. He needs a loan move.
