Nearly half of Doctors in Kerala earn less than Rs 50,000 a month. A significant number of Doctors don't even earn Rs 30,000 a month. I've shared a similar article last year about Doctors earnings in Tamil Nadu. It's like Kerala. Nothing provides reasonable certainty for well settled life. Everyday life is a struggle for many - I'm not only talking about poor but professionals as well. Because of income, many cannot be classified as poor. But they are really broke. Shamika Ravi's data on number of poor people is not worth discussing again. I've clearly explained last year how with the threshold of income she is keeping, there may not be any poor people at all. Many Indians are under poverty, provided you use practical amount of money required for even basic sustenance. It is unfortunate that most people have no way out to break this vicious cycle. Social mobility can longer be taken for granted say even if you are Doctor. Vast majority of people would come under one of the two categories- poor or broke. Financially meaningful life is limited only to 10% of our country's population.

Her name is Puja Khedkar. She cracked the UPSC civil services exam. 2023 batch IAS officer. Rank 841. But before she cracked it, she gamed it. She appeared under the OBC non-creamy layer category. Her father, a retired government officer, had declared assets worth Rs 40 crore while contesting a Lok Sabha election. OBC non-creamy layer requires a family income below Rs 8 lakh per year. She also submitted disability certificates claiming locomotor disability. Hearing impairment. Low vision. Mental illness. Across different exam attempts, she submitted different disabilities to different authorities. Delhi Police investigation found the certificates were forged and fabricated. The issuing medical authority in Ahmednagar confirmed that the disability certificate was not issued as per their own records. She also used two different names across applications. Khedkar Puja Deeliprao and Puja Manorama Dilip Khedkar. Investigators said the name changes were used to bypass the limit on allowed UPSC attempts. During her probation in Pune, she demanded a separate office cabin. A VIP number plate on her personal Audi. A red beacon for the car. She removed the nameplate of a senior officer whose room she had taken over. In July 2024, the UPSC cancelled her candidature and barred her permanently from all future exams. Every year, lakhs of honest students study for years to crack UPSC. Many from families with nothing. Many who fail and try again. She had everything, and she still cheated. The system that thousands of honest aspirants trust was gamed by someone who did not need the reservation she claimed. Her name is Puja Khedkar. This is what happens when accountability has no teeth. MP के इंदौर में रहने वाला अभिषेक पाटिल टैक्सी चलाकर अपना गुजारा करता था। 6 अप्रैल की रात उसकी गाड़ी की एक कार से हल्की टक्कर हो गई, सामने वाले ने अचानक ब्रेक मार दिया था, नुकसान बस एक खरोंच था, लेकिन कार वाला 25 हजार रुपये मांगने लगा, अभिषेक बोला गाड़ी ठीक करवा दूंगा पर इतना पैसा नहीं दे सकता! मामला थाने पहुंचा तो SI मनोहर पाल ने 50 हजार रुपये मांगे, पैसा न देने पर उसे पीटा और जेल भेजने की धमकी दी रात में घर आकर अभिषेक ने वीडियो बनाकर परिवार को भेजा, बोला गलती मेरी नहीं थी, कार वाला 25 हजार मांग रहा है, पुलिस वाला 50 हजार, मुझे पीटा गया, कहीं से मदद नहीं मिली, और आखिर में बोला अब मैं अपनी जान दे रहा हूं फिर Abhishek ने कमरे में फांसी लगाकर जान दे दी, सुबह परिवार वालों को पता चला तो घर में चीख पुकार मच गई अब SI सस्पेंड है, जांच चल रही है, लोग गुस्से में हैं, और सवाल वही है कि आम आदमी आखिर जाए तो जाए कहां ?
