My attempt at visualizing @BenjDicken's video comparing Threads vs Processes in database connections with Dagflo: youtube.com/watch?v=cExzK9… I’m working hard on making technical concepts understandable through animated visuals, even with no voiced narration.

Diagrams shouldn’t be limited to rectangles and arrows. Dagflo can render pretty much any HTML as a node, then animate and annotate the UI to explain exactly what’s changing.

What’s the difference between Excalidraw and Dagflo? Honestly, Dagflo complements Excalidraw. Excalidraw is suited for drawing diagrams. Dagflo tells a story with them via animations, statefulness, and storytelling.

Dagflo can turn pretty much any HTML into an animated, explainable node. Then you can point at, highlight, and annotate any part of it to show exactly what’s happening.

Adding narration to Dagflo. The hard part isn’t generating a voice. It’s making every word line up with the animation. A teacher points to exactly what they’re talking about. Dagflo should too.

I’m really close in releasing Dagflo, the best visualization tool for technical concepts. It’ll be FREE. Setup is simple. You add the MCP to claude/codex/opencode and let the agent render the visualization. I’m doing finishing up touches but excited to have users try it out!

I kinda want to organize a conference for people doing cool stuff around video editing on the web... I'm still convinced that this is going to be the next big thing, especially now with the advent of AI.

I’m thinking of making a long-form video on how crucial communication is within engineering organizations. We often think code is everything, but especially in the age of AI, communication has been even more crucial for org success. It’ll be more of a yap video so stay tuned!

I used Dagflo to turn a confusing performance bug into a visual, step-by-step execution video. With ~100 nodes on screen, moving just one node triggered expensive computation across all 100—including a lot of unnecessary React work.

At Meta, I've been responsible for maintaining the GraphQL Server and have grown to be the owner of the Federated GraphQL framework. Honestly, it was a lot of luck. I got hired after COVID. Survived 4 layoffs. Almost fumbled joining this team... My advice. Luckmaxx

unfortunately 'ChatGPT' just has significantly less aura than 'Codex' branding-wise, ChatGPT feels like Ask Jeeves whereas Claude / Codex feel closer to Google

Most diagrams compress all the interesting logic into one arrow. But that arrow might be parsing data, extracting fields, transforming values, and assembling an entirely new response. I’m working on deep-dive visualizations in Dagflo to show what actually happens in between.

Hot take: Diagrams suck. They’re static snapshots trying to explain systems that are constantly moving, changing, and passing data around. The workaround is to add text annotations, but this leads to clutter.

GraphQL finally makes sense. I built a new message visualization in Dagflo showing exactly how your query turns into resolvers, data fetching, and transformations.

Comparison of the old vs new way to have nodes send messages in Dagflo! To fully understand a system, I always want to see the in-depth data being moved around and transformed. This is step towards that direction.
