CHINNASWAMY STADIUM WILL HOST IPL 2026 MATCHES FOR RCB 📢
Bengaluru's M Chinnaswamy Stadium has been cleared to host IPL 2026 after a government-appointed Expert Committee approved the venue for use on Monday.
The immediate implication is that Chinnaswamy is scheduled to host the season opener between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 28, will also stage one playoff game and the final, in keeping with the tradition of the defending champions hosting the title clash.
The Chinnaswamy will host five RCB home games, while two others will be played at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Stadium in Raipur, as per a pre-arranged agreement between the franchise and the Chhattisgarh government.

"Sanju also in 2025, losing his position and batting out of order, batting anywhere and then losing his spot, all such things happened. It actually disturbs the player and I understand it completely. I had to tell him in Australia, I know how difficult it is for you to be in a different position which you don't like. But you are still doing it for the team and I think that's commendable. I had to apologise to him as well since it's very difficult but this is what I can do. I also could think in team's point of view. All these things got aligned and then it was written for him that he will definitely come up good whenever it is needed the most."
"There were small-small decisions that we took throughout from the first game. But after Sanju Samson got included in the side, I think the tide completely changed. It was little bit of a tactical decision as well as 3 left handers were batting at the top. So it was getting easier for the opposition to bowl their off spinners. We didn't want them to have their edge going into the tournament. I think it was perfect and timely inclusion of Sanju and the way he played. It was due for him as well. He was working really hard behind the scenes. No one really knew what he was going through. But then the way he played throughout the tournament and became the Player of the tournament.
