𝘽𝙐𝘾𝙆𝙀𝙏 𝘾𝙊𝙇𝙇𝙀𝘾𝙏𝙄𝙊𝙉 🪙 Carrick Rangers 2016s will be player mascots for the visit of Linfield tomorrow evening. Carrick 2016s are coached by our very own Christopher McKee who has started his coaching journey with @CarrickRangers where Chris began his own journey from just 4 years old. On Friday evening, the Coaches and players from the 2016s will be going around with buckets doing a collection for their teammate Ollie Willis. Ollie has been with Carrick from they started their 2016 age group 18 months ago. After a great weekend of football back in mid May 2023, Ollie's parents noticed strange bruising so they took Ollie to hospital to get him checked out on 23rd May. Ollie missed training that night which was rare, then the club received the news later that night that Ollie had been Diagnosed with Leukaemia. A few days later it was confirmed as Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML) a rare form of Leukaemia which would require an intensive course of Chemotherapy and long stays in hospital. Ollie was in hospital for around 6 weeks to begin his long journey of treatment and received lots of support from his coaches, teammates as well as local football clubs as well as video messages from Rio Ferdinand, Harry Redknapp, Trai Hume , Carl Johnston and Stuart Dallas. Ollie is currently receiving his 3rd course of chemotherapy and is back and forth to hospital. He’s always smiling.
