Narcissists/psychopaths/predators have 2 completely different sides. Unless you have been targeted and feel the full force of their 'dark' side, you will find it hard to see the dark because the 'light' side, or fake façade, is so compelling. Below is a real life example of a case I worked on which involved a female predator.... The light side of the predator: Energetic. Engaging. Educated. Well groomed and professional. Had a warm, friendly style. Had a prominent business address and generalist consulting website. Contributed to domestic violence causes. Guest speaker at domestic violence events. The dark side of the same predator: Claimed 10 false tertiary qualifications on various social media posts. Lied about doing a PhD in narcissism to get access to vulnerable victims of domestic violence. Collected information from victims of domestic violence survivors under the guise of a PhD student and sold the information to their abusive partners and/or charged the victim of domestic violence for her discussion with them without previous consent. Published a website positioning herself as an expert in healing people of narcissistic abuse.

The #narcissist doesn’t think in terms of what works best for everyone. They see life as a competition; a zero-sum game where there must be a winner and a loser and the narcissist wants to make sure they are the “winner” and you are the “loser”. No matter what. It’s important to understand the zero-sum concept exists in the mind and is not a necessary function of life or reality. But they feel it so strongly, they will sabotage the people around them to feel like they have “won” when in reality they have not gained anything more. It is a toxic delusion of perception.

Narcissists get away with their abuse because anyone who hasn’t experienced it firsthand can’t fathom the concept of an individual using such calculated cruelty. The truth of what narcissists are and what they do sounds insane because they ARE insane. Listen to survivors.

The malignant #narcissist will privately abuse you until you react negatively and then they’ll use that negative reaction as an excuse to overtly abuse you as if they are simply responding to your behavior. As if you started it. They literally start the abuse out of sadism or anger for the envy they feel and then use your reaction as an excuse to continue abusing you harder. It’s Insane.

#NarcissisticAbuse is a devastating form of emotional and psychological abuse caused by someone with high narcissistic traits. It involves a range of manipulative behaviors like gaslighting, blame-shifting, devaluation, and constant belittling and criticism that erodes your self-esteem. The abuser will try to control and isolates you, cutting you off from support and making you feel dependent and powerless. They may alternate between being nice and cruel, leaving you in a constant state of anxiety, desperately seeking their approval. The victim may look like they are lying or crazy when they try to explain what’s going on because the narcissist’s two-faced nature is shamelessly hidden behind a mask of charm, lies, manipulation and smear campaigns. This kind of abuse can lead to serious emotional damage, including anxiety, depression, a loss of self-worth, and in extreme cases, C-PTSD, self medication, or suicide. It could be described as covert psychological violence.
