@itsbeforesunset It's worth it. The first part at least. Italian countryside scenes, 50s New York, 60s Vegas. Not as dour as I expected.

I haven't seen most of the "classic" films, like The Godfather 2, Shawshank etc.
Most of the films I watch are indie projects or lesser known films, when something's popular it just feels more of a chore to watch and as such I haven't seen most of 'em.

what’s your worst sin as a cinephile? for me i’m HORRIBLE at watching long movies. once i see it’s over 2 and half hours i get scared

@BigBoiJoe_ I like insights into times and cultures, so I'm happier watching a Soviet romcom or anything filmed in 60s France than an American's attempt at a timeless epic.
I'm not looking for the most niche stuff. More about a broad range.

i unfortunately have the zoomer curse of, if i’m at home, and watching a movie alone, and it isn’t grabbing me completely, i tend to glance at / get on my phone
something i’ve been working on improving by just keeping it further away / pausing if i feel the urge 🙅♀️🙇♀️

@lovesicknoon I'll admit Hereditary is a quality film, but it's nothing special for me. I respect it more than I like it.
I like horror with physical threats (X, Pearl, Scream, Alien) or more obvious metaphors (It Follows, Smile, Nosferatu), or standout visuals (Witch, Midsommar, Lighthouse).
