After the war, a reform was implemented that removed officers from direct combat, and the pikes in their hands were replaced with ceremonial halberds.

The challenges in expanding Elven power across the region stem from the relative smallness of the Elven population itself. During the final battle of the Trade War, it was precisely the shortage of officers and the inability to replenish losses that led to the their defeat

@TimothyEveland I don't know why, but this particular scene really catches my eye Probably because of the dynamic of movements in their fight

Graham Turner's art is top notch and gives a much better image.

You're not going to get it from buhurt. Real knightly art trained around attacking the gaps in armor rather than bashing it nonsensically. This buhurt or "medieval MMA" is awesome, but it's intended to resemble tournaments, not warfare. The armor is also modified for modern safety, which armor nerds love to make fun of because it's obvious when an artist is referencing buhurt armor by mistake. Buhurt armor is beefier, less elegant, and the helmet designs are often not medieval at all. Unfortunately until Hollywood takes the stick out if its arse the best way to imagine what real medieval knights fighting in battle looked like is to read history, especially primary sources, and reference real medieval art as well as art produced by masters who know their stuff like Graham Turner.

i just can't imagine a medieval knight in a real battle.
