@delfinut At least it's nicely printed out! I remember recently trying to follow handwritten instructions from our late grandma. It said "1 pol. lžíce" and we're like - why the hell would you need half a spoonful of anything? It was, obviously, "polévková lžíce" (tablespoon) 🤷‍♂️

@delfinut Fannie farmer explained chemical processes of cooking and also masterfully standardised measurements/proportions. Otherwise we'd still be cooking with a pinch of salt, a handful of cherry tomatoes or a goodly spoon of flour. Just in case you didn't know :D en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fannie_Fa…

@OxfordBiology @delfinut @ConversationUK A question would be the levels of disease in local and migratory birds around the Caspian. Could seals be predating or consuming dead birds as carrion which is an obvious route? No idea if seals would support viral reassortment.
